talk of Martial being linked with Chelsea, would love to see him at Chelsea, he has has lost his way a little at United but think Sari could bring him back up to the standards many thought he could reach.

Ozil has retired from international football?
That's a joke that writes its own punchline.
Anyway.

• #145655
That would be the same World Cup winning Ozil?

Why is Özil a cunt for retiring when he has basically been scapegoated for Germany's loss?
Bearing in mind this started a long time before the World Cup even began. The President of the DFB has spoken out against multiculturalism since he was an MP, and at the start of the World Cup the media were talking about a split in the dressing room between the "bling-bling gang" (mainly players with immigrant backgrounds) and the better behaved, more reserved "German" Germans.
Özil had a poor World Cup, and the photo with Erdoğan was very ill-advised. But if you think that is why he was called a "Turkish shit" and a "goat fucker" (by a social democrat politician) because of either of these things, I don't think you understand the current dialogue in Germany.
I'd recommend reading a bit more about the background to it, or it seems as though you're laughing about someone being racially bullied out of a job they love.

yep, his reasons look entirely justified to me:
https://twitter.com/MesutOzil1088/status/1020984884431638528there's three tweets from him on it that express his position very eloquently.

He's not a cunt. Who wouldn't want out?
I think he's had enough, and he's aware enough to know that there's a clearout of the team about to happen. I can't see it being particularly pleasant. The "bling bling" stuff was a bit like when the Dutch team fell out. And the French.
It's all a bit shit.Making a joke about Ozil retiring was along the lines of "how would you tell?", he won the world cup in 2014.
It looks like he had a good qualification in 2016/17, 4 assists and a goal against the likes of Norway, Czech R, NI, and Azerbaijan. Then 17/18 wasn't so great was it?

Seems like a decent enough guy.

Which is why I'm surprised you sold Danny Ward to us. We did pay handsomely for him, but I expect him to be a more than adequate replacement for Schmeichel when he inevitably leaves.

It's tough down here. We (and even more Sunderland!) had real hangovers from the PL first year down - it's hard to get a relegated team up for the lower level - needs clever management. If you have a slow start it's hard work to catch up. And while there are a shitload of games, they are all over the place - Tuesdays, Wednesdays + all the TV schedule changes that you will get.

we've still got mignolet !

• #145663
Yup. It's been a long time (relatively) since our yoyo years so I'm worried we've forgotten how to do it as a club.
Just hoping some of the energy Darren Moore managed to get into the team for the last few games of the season can be rediscovered in time for August 4th

The championship is a grind. End of.

He had a photo-op with Recep Erdogan. The fact that some other people are racist does not detract from his cuntiness.

we haven't taken Josh Onomah with us on our US tour, not sure whether we're leaving him in readiness for a cash plus player move for Grealish.
I'm at the stage now where I believe we're not going to buy anyone, as our rumored targets sort out new contracts with current club, or their possible transfer fee rises past what I think we can afford, and players that were supposed to be making way for new faces, stay in the fold.
I know Levy's a deadline day deliverer but there's a lot to be done and only 3 weeks to do it in.. -
• #145667
He seems to be getting a lot more shit than Gundogan who referred to Erdogan as My President.
Gundogan does have a Turkish passport though. -
• #145668
I'd rather not have Onomah back. Still not sure whether Jack will go or not - lots of rumours both ways swirling around. Interesting few days to come, but whichever way it falls, Levy's brinkmanship has caught him out this time as he won't be a cheap as last week.

Everton are allegedly forking out £50m for Richarlison.
That Neymar transfer has really messed things up hasn’t.

Great to see Gianfranco on the bench... 😍😍😍
-
• #145672
I know he's 31 and a jorge mendes client so Wolves get preferential treatment, but £5m for Joao Moutinho, has got to be the bargain of the transfer window
Have no ideas about his wages but £5m for him! He'd help out many a midfield in the teams above Wolves.

its great ain't it.
Have to say Berkley looks trim and eager to get on.
Would like to see him prove a lot of doubters wrong (including me) -
• #145674
Smart move. Cambiasso coming to us (on a free) the season after we got promoted was a one of the reasons we stayed up.

I am so pleased that Everton are buying another potential flop for a fuck load of cash. Jealous of the kitty as a Newcastle fan, not jealous of the way the toffees are using it.
shankly would be spinning in his grave about ozil
