  • if we don't make top 4 then there might be calls for his head, hopefully we'll be looking up not down

if we challenge for the title and go far into a couple of cups the fans will be happy

  • ""Klopp has been in profit for three transfer windows, which is the equivalent of saving your pennies. Klopp has chosen to go for quality not quantity. If they can't deal with that them **** 'em. ""

""What do people expect us to do with all the Coutinho money? Put it in savings? Its ridiculous.""

    from https://forums.liverpoolfc.com/threads/397535-For-his-2nd-stint-as-LFC-manager-Sir-Kenny-Dalglish-s-Twitter-thread-needs-no-introduction-nor-spam-for-that-matter/page2

first three pages are a good read

  • £170m offer winging its way to west London for a certain Belgian international.

  • It’s not Courtois btw

  • Or Batshuayi

  • where does roman conduct his business now that he's barred from entering the uk ?

  • I’m going to say that Liverpool’s transfer business over the past 2 years has been superb. I hate how good it has been.

I’d question the price paid for Alisson - everything else makes good sense to me. They haven’t won a trophy but I’d have rather watched them than Arsenal over the past 3 years and we won trophies. Liverpool won’t sack Klopp same as Spurs won’t sack Potchetino - they won’t find better managers.

  • Alderweireld?

  • Seems about right.

  • Well that escalated quickly...

Aston Villa have confirmed that NSWE, a company jointly owned and controlled by businessman Nassef Sawiris’ group NNS and businessman Wes Edens have agreed to invest in the club in a move that will see Dr Tony Xia operate as joint Chairman of the club.

Sawiri is worth £6.6bn - richest Egyptian in the world and Wes Edens is worth £2.2bn. Look forward to Xia leaving completely in due course.

  • Does this mean Grealish stays?
(Carpetbagging Spurs fan rubbing hands in expectation that he'll still be sold cheap)

  • Mo Salah to Villa?

  • Who knows. Think it's still doubtful as the new investment will sort out running costs, but not sure will help with FFP. A glimmer of hope though...

  • He still needs to be sold to adhere to FFP rules unfortunately. It’s good news otherwise though. Happy days

  • Probably, but we don't need to have our pants pulled down to cover operating costs now. It could wait till Jan for FFP and there are other potential avenues to explore in the meantime - sponsor naming of Villa Park etc, selling less important players etc. I think it probably will still happen, but at least we can negotiate from a stronger position.
As you say - happier days than earlier this week. I seriously think without this we could have been in administration after the weekend.

Interesting to see if Bruce is here for much longer...

  • The more traditional FFP route is to get promoted and then pay a fine that's a fraction of the increased revenue of the premier league.

  • Reupped Son Heung Min til 2023 and Erik Lamela til 2022, not as exciting as bringing in new players but a show of commitment to the cause by resigning our most important ones.
Expecting new deals for Eriksen and Dele in the near future...

  • Reupped

    Buzzwords thread >>>>>

  • Lamela >>>>

  • New efl rules allow demotion from promotion places + fines, transfer embargo etc so, although not tested, it's a big gamble.

  • this

would argue Son to some extent too.

sorry Corndog but you are brave facing this. a season no better than the last awaits

  • You and unknown user can get to fuck!
Lamela was missed through his hip surgeries. And he’s an energiser bunny of a player who initiates the press and creates chances for others.

I’ll agree with you until new players are signed but if you’re giving me third and champions league qualification with this group of players before the season starts. I’ll take it..
