Arup cut a few spare spokes for me with nipples so should be good on that front. Rim tape is new.

Yeah, he did it cos I asked him to not cos he suggested it. They're built up with Sapim Strong spokes used for ebikes!

You could also just snap a spoke by bad luck. They weigh nothing and take no space.

If you take spare spokes the most likely ones to go are drive side on the rear. So how are you going to get your cassette off to replace?
Better to make sure your wheel is well built and not likely to fail.
According to @cycleclinic who built my wheels, hitting potholes doesn't typically cause spoke breakage. -

I've gone with the thinking that if you manage to make it to a bike shop they have a spoke of the right length.

I'm taking 3 spares with the thought that they'll survive if one breaks but would take it to the next shop to have fitted at next opportunity and at least they'd be the right length already for the shop to fit. -

This is cool. Enjoyed the description too:
The NBT2 is NOT suitable for use with super lightweight [stupid-liteTM] alloy racing frames, where the deraileurhanger already self destructs with normal use.
Prior to first time use it is recomended to check with conventional tools that the lockring hasn't been tightened way over the recommended torque by some hamfisted mechanic, to prevent overloading the dropout.
Was a temp fix to fix some rattly PDW mudguards. Made the tyre rub the zip tie. Nothing pointy to hand as commuting. Not my finest hour I must admit :)
