No, not really.
If you turn off WiFi and don't have a SIM in it, it should happily run the current software forever without doing automatic updates which break key functions. I'm looking at you, Windows Phone, with your 6 months of "We can't pin this at the moment" when I try to put a playlist on my home screen

Wiping it is a good idea. This is not rooting.
Then turn in airplane mode and leave a sim out of it and you should be good to go.
How do you want to get music on to it?

How to wipe easily and what to install after this?
How do you want to get music on to it?
So far I connected the thing to my windows pc and dragged files in the "Music" folder on the phone, which got recognized like a removable drive.
Playing these with the standard android app worked fine, though as I said if somebody has a recommendation for a nice and simple player I'm all ears. -

To wipe it, look for factory reset in the settings menus.

let me know if you get one, i miss having a tablet after my sony one died

Also what is the best / user-friendly mp3-player for android?
I use poweramp and have done for many years. They're one of the few apps that will sort by album artist as well as artist (useful for compilations etc).

Anyone using an xaiomi mi A1?
Teenage child person thing needs a new phone and this looks like a good bet at £140 or so from eGlobal.

Me. Really like it. Cannot fault it at all.
Was just about to post in here though as my screen has broken after I dropped it down a concrete staircase... Pro tip, buy a case for it, as the metal back is extremely slippy.
Anyway has anyone repaired a screen before? Process looks easy from the below video. I have already bought the actual screen, it just didn't come with the extra adhesive bits. What I need to buy is the "industrial glue adhesive" (seen at 2:30) and "red tape adhesive" (3:20).

Anyone know where I can get these two adhesives?

Thanks - hope your repair goes well!
I will get a plastic case as well...

I do, think is a great phone for the money, soon to be getting Oero 8.1 which should fix some little niggles. Would suggest you install the GCAM package as the stock camera IMO is crap.

Hello fine forum folk.
I'm after a memory card for my S9.
Probs 128GB but fuck me, they seem really expensive. SanDisk /Samsung, is there a cheaper option? -
• #19769
128tb on the cards before long.

Opps! Out of stock already!

I haven't watched the video, but I've repaired phones before, and you can get 3M Glue Double Sided Adhesive Tape for a couple of quid on eBay.
I'm assuming that is the same or similar stuff
-
• #19774
That should do the job, thanks.
Just need some "industrial glue" whatever that is. Seems to be the same stuff that melts after the heat gun bit in the video. Anyone have any idea what it might be? Would just use normal superglue or something but worry that I won't be able to separate it if I need to replacw the screen a second time.

I foolishly assumed that you knew how to use google and were complaining about the £25-£30 price point.
Buy a cheap MP3 player?
