Cycle Republic stock Catlike online so may have something in store too:

Finally bought myself a helmet, not because I'm suddenly safety conscious, I just need somewhere for my action cam to go (not keen on bar mount footage).

This might seem like a stupid question but does anyone else who has a Bell Stratus have trouble getting their sunglasses to stay in the vents? I pop my Jawbreakers up when I stop but they fall out really easily... am I doing it wrong?

I use a Zephyr which is very similar. I find the dock at the back is more secure for most glasses. I've used the docking vents on the front too, but have had to turn my sunglasses (not jawbreakers) upside down to get them to feel like they're not going to slip out.

Try Smith perhaps.

Nope they don't tried today, a little loose at the sides

Specialized airnet?
Kask mojito?
-

I did start with them, but changed as not got a spesh bike now.
I have the Kask Protone which does for but end up with pressure points after long rides

Kask Valegro should fit like a mojito right?
Anyone tried one?

Not seen them in shops.

shame. like the look of it

Just tried one on in Condor. Compared to my Mojito the brow pad is quite different. Rather than wrapping horizontally around the forehead it has two strips running vertically back over the head. I didn’t find as comfortable but probably great for ventilation.
Medium size comparable to my medium Mojito though.
Like the Mojito the retention system at the back still messes with my prescription glasses so I’m giving a it a miss.

What sunglasses do people use with a Mojito? My (admittedly ancient - about 15 years old!) Oakleys don’t fit in the vents for storage when I’m not wearing them

To fluoro or not to fluoro? I nearly bought another helmet as the fluoro yellow clashes so badly with my purple colnago, I was going to get an all black one I'd seen cheap. Then thought, have I heard myself? Surely there's good reason why gaudy yellow and green is on a helmet, so... here's a great article. The great fluoro fallacy... So what am I doing? I'll stick with fizzy yellow.

Hello,
I am looking for a low profile helmet for summer commuting. Does anyone have any thoughts on the Bell Hub/Giro Sutton helmets? Although the Sutton has internal ventilation ridges, it has very little vents. Suggestions for similar helmets would be great.

Picked up one of these recently
Not the lightest or the fastest but good compromise and relatively reasonably priced. Also hard shell wraps along the bottom so less likely to be damaged and can easily mount rear light and camera should you so desire

is the giro aeon still the lightest about? 190g medium
Seems so. There is a new kask, but apparently no sweat catcher on the forehead, which is a bit useless.

Bit of a dredge. In the market for a new lid. Like the look of this. Anywhere in the UK I can try one on do you know?

Cool. Ask these guys where the nearest shop is. They’re our UK distributor http://www.jungleproducts.co.uk/

I'm looking for a commuting helmet for my gf, that is a little more suitable than the light Giro lid that she's currently using.
The main requirement is that it features a hard outer shell (ABS or equivalent) so it can sustain the little everyday knocks it will inevitably experiences. Rear dial is also a must, and MIPS would be great. The POC Crane Mips ticks all the boxes, but I only found it in stock in blue in M. The Bern Parker Mips looks good too, but I haven't seen one in the flesh so I don't know how resistant the outer shell is.
Any recommendation? -

Hexo helmets are hosting a night with Simon Gerrans tomorrow at Finsbury Square with a Q&A and a chance to check out their new helmet and get your head scanned for a fitting.
One of the founders is a good pal of mine and asked if I could post it here. Need to RSVP here if you're keen on popping by.

That looks really nice having just checked out their website.
A couple of questions though:
- What do they think of the whole MIPS movement, considering that a custom fit would preclude the ability to have a roll cage inside and further might amplify the concussive effect given that the helmet would fit perfectly and so not roll at all?
- Why aren't they marketing based on the fact that a custom fit would minimise the appearance and make you look less of a knob?

The MIPS question was my first question too! Apparently the impact absorption qualities of their 3d printed honeycomb structure are far superior to the benefits of MIPS in a conventional helmet! I think they're working on some material to show side by side comparative at the moment?
I'll pass on the info re: knob reduction factor also, it's a very good point! It's actually a really nice looking product! I'll be getting one myself once my current Bell needs replacing...

But MIPS isn't about impact absorption, it's about stopping a roll happening on the skull that leads to concussive damage to the brain.
MIPS is about allowing the helmet to roll independently of the skull to reduce that concussive effect.
Who stocks catlike in london? will they fit my head?
Been using a kask mojito for quite some time, bought a new one and it doesn't fit as well as my old one. both same size.
Anything iwht a similar kask like fit? My MTB lid is a bell and that's nice, are they similar between road and MTB
