  • I was more of a Railway/George Canning/Two Woodcocks man BITD... Two Woodcocks being the clear winner, guaranteed free grub if there was a wedding party on, which seemed to be at least twice a month...

  • Although more recently seen slumming with the yummy mummies at the Prince Regent...

Anyway, you'd hate the Trinity on a Mondays when Jonny, Tim and I keep the spirit on souths alive.

  • I do love Le Reej, so comfy... Nothing like that out here, probably just as well...

  • We’ve all been regulars somewhere Markyboy. I know I was a blow-in and blow-out (blow through?) but please don’t deny me the fun of grumbling about the invasion of red trousers which characterised my last years in London.

  • Ah, ignore me, I'm just in a bad mood, grumble away...

But some of us - @cornelius_blackfoot - are getting on with living, working and raising our families round here and quite like it. Sure it's changed, some of it for better and some for worse, but banging on about pubs not being like they used to be is too easy, and just pissing in the wind. I remember when the Regent had a sticky carpet and a tobacco stained ceiling - was it any better then? Probably not, but it's irrelevant.

  • Think he had a few broken ribs and a broken wrist, hell of a response from the emergency services. From what the landlord of the pub said it was more of where he ended up then the injuries hence why the fire bridge turned up.

  • Where did he end up? Tangled in scaffold?

  • Think he got caught in the netting in between two levels of scaffold. Trying to find the tweet

  • @Markyboy I wasn't banging on about anything being like it used to be. Just moaning about what it was like when I left. Doesn't mean I don't still love and occasionally miss the old stamping ground.

  • I never went drinking in pubs back then anyway. My drinking memories start with hitting up the DogStar and getting jiggy at the Satay bar..

  • A 27 y/o London native who works with me mentioned today that she doesn't like pubs. I asked why and she said they're gross and they smell of beer.

  • Something something avocado sandwich

  • Does anyone near Herne Hill have a white toe strap they don't need that they could part with? I've lost the one that holds my carrafice to the seatpost.

  • i have a black toe strap if that's any use? i'm in brix by lidl

  • That would be cool, thanks.

    I'll PM you.

  • Sharing here too as they had been driving towards brixton, you never know it could be a neighbour of someone on here.

  • Brixton: friend from USA! Usa?! Usa! I haven't seen in some time.
Wanted: early tea (my family), nice vibes, good food.

    Local and small is good
I like saray in Herne hill and o Cantino if that helps.

  • Meat Liqueur? Formerly Chicken Liqueur. Home from home for your friend from the US

Or The Department Store on the outside/upstairs terrace as a little smarter

  • Negrils. If it's still going.

  • I would have said negril yeah. Or that little Colombian place in the village with enormous comical prints of a chubby infant in a sombrero. It's a tiny little unit.

  • Forgot to mention Naughty Piglets, best food I have had for ages. Didn't like the wine list tho

Or for something very different how about Clink? Only open Thursday night for dinner but the

  • nice enough restaurant... unforgivably awful name.

  • your a tiny little unit.
