  • I was surprised by the suit too, expected jeans and a tshirt as always

  • What's your angle here, Louis? There was more to that suit than just looking like a work experience student at an accountancy firm.

  • Michelle Wolf absolutely killed it at the White House Correspondants Dinner. Finest comedy I've seen in years

  • she supported Chris Rock at the Tambourine man gig. was awesome live.

Also saw Russel Peters the other day, that was ace.

Looking forward to Kevin Hart and Michael McIntyre!

  • Looking forward to Michael McIntyre!

    Why? You got a rifle?

  • Went to see Frankie Boyle last night, really enjoyed it

  • Daliso Chaponda did a R4 show on weds, have heard him on a few other things recently
really like his style, voice and humour

  • Forgot I started this thread all those years ago.
Happy to say I finally plucked up the courage and started doing some stand up myself, did loads of open mic nights which went well but realised telling 'jokes' doesn't suit my style.
My stuff has weirdly developed into poetry/standup (sort of), never thought that would happen in a million years, but it works and people laugh at the right bits!

Doing slots at a regular monthly night now which I absolutely love.

Tim Key and Rob Auton are definitely my heroes as far as that mix of comedy and poetry goes, both absolute masters at it.

Reminds me of a great support act I saw a few years ago, Malcolm Head - check him out.

  • Just had a quick look at his stuff, looks right up my street! Ta.

  • @Drokk
And Daniel Kitson, albeit it more storytelling.
Tree with Kitson and Tim Key was great

  • Absolutely love Kitson, his work in progress shows have always been my favourite things to see from him, he is so good at just working a room and playing with ideas presented to him.

  • Saw his "A Show for Christmas" last year and it was masterful. It was almost beyond comedy, seeming rather like he'd invited hundreds of folk into his front room and just blethered about heartfelt stories. Don't think I'd ever cried at a "comedy" show before.

  • Had my first gig since getting a smart watch that does my BPM, turns out getting really nervous about performing on stage is great cardio for your heart...
I normally rest around 56 and it peaked at 158!
