  • Was it Fignon who discovered the real cause of his fatigue when his trainer pulled six feet of a tapeworm out of him

Either that or one too many beers

  • If you still need to be doing something the week before then training probably needs to start earlier i guess.

  • Sunday morning turbo session motivational music

  • I often listen to the polka-esque Radio/Video for that:

  • If you sing along to most SOAD stuff the lack of oxygen is cheap altitude training.

  • Dalgas getting into the groove, 352km ToffBike 28 minutes

  • what Graeme obree said in his book, which was essentially

Ignore everything everyone else tells you

    Paradox?

  • These doctors notes that are required.
Can't seem to find much on the NHS site about them but seems to be some private surgeries charging c£25.00 for them. If I rock up to my family NHS clinic, am I likely to get one for free? Don't think I've been to the doctors in the last 10 years!

  • I went to my GP and told them what to write. Cost about £15 IIRC.

  • It's a lottery. Some people get it for free with no issue, some are charged, and some have to jump through hoops.

  • Yup. And a valuable life lesson. ;)

  • It was a reasonable book. His premise was that there is a lot of mumbo jumbo around and people try to overcomplicate things

  • I went to my GP and told them what to write. Cost about £15 IIRC

Me too, although mine charged about £25.
I expect they would be very difficult to forge...

  • And would invalidate any insurance too. Including possibly leaving yourself open to a lawsuit.

  • Wondered if you had used the Supernovas and Igaro yet? I have not decided on dynamos as yet although my bike is now here! Did you fit them yourself or get a shop to do it.

  • I haven't, no, as was waiting for the worst of winter to be over before getting them built up. I'm currently riding my planet x as my biek is broken.
I have however, this very morning, sent a message to the forums best wheel builder @arup to get them together. Fairly broke at the moment as I've gone from contracting to perm at work so haven't been paid for a month!

  • Okay, thanks! I am pretty hopeless with anything mechanical so wanted to see how easy it is to set the charger and lights up and what you thought of them.

  • Can anyone recommend a London bike shop that might be able to fit dynamo lights and usb charger.

I am hopefully getting the TCR discount on supernova lights and igaro charger and think that shops might not be keen to fit something which I had not bought from them. Alternatively, how easy is it to do this yourself?

  • Joel from Blue Door in Crystal Palace has worked on a lot of the Talbots (including mine) with this type of setup so is familiar with the tech.
I'm planning on taking mine to him. Only works on Saturdays there now apparently.
I have a fist full of dicks but understand how it works and could roadside troubleshoot to happy to pay someone else to do it quickly. @hippy will tell you to do it yourself though :)

  • As I said to 7ven, this is something you should do yourself, so you understand how it works, so when it fails at 4am in Sloveniaakiakhazaakstanussia you can fix it.

A little forethought, patience and you're done. I mean, I did mine and I fucking HATE wrenching on bikes. I'd normally just break something and ride another bike I'm so disgusted with the broken one. The hardest thing for me was remembering to put a piece of heatshrink on the wires BEFORE you join them. All the instructions are in the Supernova pack and the only variation is you're adding a second set of wires (Igaro) to the clip at the hub end.
