Is there an easy way to predict tyre size?

Last year I ordered WTB resolute 650b tyres from Sigma and then forgot about them. Last week tyres suddenly arrived.

My Isen is specced to take 42mm tyres, the wtb tyres are allegedly 42mm but they do not state for what internal rim width.

I don’t want to remove the wtb tyres from their packaging and attempt to install them on my wheels if they are unlikely to fit as I doubt Sigma would accept them being returned.

So how do I predict the likely size of the tyres? I am using a light bicycle hookless rim with a 22mm internal width.

Doesn’t help predict tyre width wrt rim width. It helps explain what rim widths will work safely with different tyre sizes.

Measure the outer edge of the tyre bead to bead, take some string, mock up size/shape inflated by holding ends of string rim width apart and making a circle?

The tolerances are tight on this bike, my schwalbe g one tyres are allegedly 40mm but come up about 41.5 and just have clearance on the seatstays. Different tyres seem to assume different shapes when inflated up.

As said, locking handles are a combination of security and safety. Most insurance companies will require locking handles on the ground (readily accessible) floor windows. Depending on the arrangement of the locks, you can often lock the window in a partly open /vent position, which makes it harder for an opportunist to fully open it.

You can get non locking handles for top or side hung windows. Intended for fire escape routes, they have a green push button.

@dancing james I've just measured my 700*42 Resolutes. They're 42.5mm on DT XR331 rims, 21.5mm internal width.
That's pretty much 2mm wider than the 700*40 G Ones that were on there previously.

A related question, does anyone have the nut that comes on the end of cheap Chinese thru axles (but no others apparently). I have ordered one but it's gonna be ages and I want to ride my bike now

For what? If you want to Just Ride, follow Grant Petersen's advice and don't bother. If you want your bike to look like it was made yesterday by somebody who hadn't seen a bike since 1985, Zefal clips and straps and whatever reasonable facsimile of 1970s Campag pedals suits your budget and aesthetic; MKS, Wellgo, Exustar etc.

Can you pull the cable out of the shifter? ie. is the little shifter end cap still attached to the cable?
Cables can look like they're still connected but if they've snapped within the shifter it's hard to tell.

You jest, but guess what I just scored on eBay for under £40 delivered? 1 X Impero that will fit the Daccorddi.

The Silva has arrived and it is lovely and shiny. Fits the Daccorddi perfectly, using the pump bump at the front.

As a total bonus it goes on the Grubb too, just below the pegs. No Dremel required.

Can't you just run it up the seattube?

No, the rear top tube peg is too close to the seat top for the pump to fit in.

I like it parallel to the top tube with a gap. It looks kinda vintage and like one of those odd double top tube (Dutch I think?) frames.

Just figured its gonna slip as soon as you hit the inevitable pot hole
