Did they get you off the mountain when you had your slip?

Have we done the Black Bay 58 ? Apols if repost, but this looks great (aside from the gilt markers/numerals on the bezel)
39mm case and under 12mm thick, plus it doesn't have that coloured band around the winder stem.

Ha ha, no actually although it was in their jurisdiction. I've used them a few times for recreational purposes and I'm also a bit of a mountaineering/mountain rescue geek.
Its a pretty cool company. It was created when the local pharmacist's mother had a heart attack and it took them five days to get her to a hospital due to avalanche problems so he trained as a pilot and took out a loan for a helicopter. After that, they basically pioneered modern techniques in crevasse rescue and critical patient care in confined spaces as their levels of mountain tourism went up. They hold the world record for highest mountain rescue by helicopter (well over 7000m) and their medics are seen as a gold standard for in the field emergency care...people travel from all round the world to train with them.
I think Air Zermatt pilots have won three or four of those gallantry awards (the same award that the guy who ditched in the Hudson got). They're just really good value for a story, such as time time they revived a child that had been under the ice of a frozen lake for over an hour.
A general interest in their history and what they do, tied in with my passion for climbing and skiing and my use of them to get to difficult locations means I find their memorabilia quite collectible.

Anyone come across one of these? I've found one for sale but as usual suspect a copy....

oh shit... I never heard of that. I have friends in Zermatt, and one worked for Air Zermatt.
I can ask, but I'd 100% bet they are all long gone

initially think about who is selling it , what they know about it and how much they are asking for it?

That's a really nice one as well. I got this ~50% off as the painted numbers don't 100% line up (see the noon arrow, it's off fractionally). I'm fine with that though, as I have way too many watches as it is.

That's really nice.
Especially the hands. It's something I'm not keen on about my skx013. The shape and silver finish just don't quite do it for me. I think ones with a black background would look better.

Tudor, take my money!

Is that the one with the wind triangle calculator on the back of the case?
Edit: Nope, looks like that's the 'X Wind' model.

@Stonehedge great film, thanks for the link. This isn't the watch is it? I realise the queue is probably fairly hefty.

I think the BB-58 is pretty nice but can’t get past the snowflake hour hand with dot indices, looks so much better with rectangles eg. the Pelagos or this lush Marine Nationale military Tudor. Shoulda stuck with the original merc hand.

Yup, that's the one. Thanks. They're only making 100 so I doubt I'll be lucky. I'll call them in the morning.

That Jura says it employs 65 people. So half buy two for their sons, then some business partners and sponsors...... you'll be bidding high for the remainder I suppose.
Quite busy dial, but in a good way

Given that they aren't supposed to sell outside of Switzerland, and that the 100 pieces will be shared between all swiss Hamilton distributors, I think it will be far tougher than that.
-
• #27174
I get a discount at Jura 5-10% for spending with them...
Can't hurt to ask if their loyalty card would apply for this if you manage to get a hold of one.

Have you considered collecting rocking-horse shit? May be easier.
It's probably worth mentioning that I have a small collection of Air Zermatt related stuff hence my slightly elevated interest in getting one.
