We've been going to the gym a couple times a week like normal.
I tend to do weights and my other half does the crosstrainer.
Not really noticed a difference in the calories the machine calculates for her or my weights and reps before failure.
Neither of us have ever really gone that hard in the gym though, not sure either of us have ever really done anything properly high intensity to be honest!

Thanks for the info. Good to read a success story.

In my experience you have to build up to high intensity exercise as it takes a while for your body to adapt to burning fat for it. It's very easy to bonk if you do high intensity stuff with not a lot of glycogen in your system. I found (slow) running fine with it but with cycling I had to be careful as it was easy to push your HR and move from fat burning to glycogen burning.
@Drokk Have you had any issues with sleep? I found it hard to drop off without having some carbs in the evening.

Fasting seems to be helping me (not just lose weight but also not overeat when not fasting, it seems to reset my appetite), but lack of planning means I'm closer to 6:1 or 11:3 than 5:2.
28/2 95.3kg
13/3 93.5kgHave another 36h fast planned for Wed/Thu/Fri this week which should help again.
Goals: <80kg by Christmas and <76kg by London Marathon 2019.

Ive always been put off Keto diet because of the 'breath' and that it's pretty strict - I know I would find it too hard

^ I really enjoyed the energy from keto but found it hard to stick to. I missed fruit* and the meals can get a bit formulaic if you don't have a lot of cooking time.
*and biscuits... :)

@jdp both of us have been falling asleep much earlier (a good thing, we used to be up until half midnight most nights) and much deeper sleep.
@Tenderloin the breath thing was definitely there for a week or so, but has completely gone now (my other half is obsessed with smelly breath, so I'd be told if mine honked!)
As for how strict it is, honestly the things it allows us to have are all our favourites, so it feels like we've given up very little in terms of food types. Can still go for a meat liquor burger! (no buns and wings instead of chips) have a dirty kebab when pissed. Honestly loving it so far. -

Got the devil inside (some shitty gastric flu) and hit 66.6kg today (5ft 11). Probably mega dehydrated after a hills session last night. Was 82kg a few years back so I'm now at a weight where I feel much better going up the hills. That's enough. Just need to focus on strength and endurance now. Nothing like being ill for weight loss!

Yeah lots of it I'd love
My gf is from HK so no rice would break her heart. I also love Wine, Pizza and Pasta and I would lapse and from reading if you keep lapsing it kind of defeats the point. That's just lack of willpower on my part but I can build it into my diet now and it works. Horses for courses innit.

Very interesting - thanks for posting.
Food for thought.

I eat people before I get to that stage.
"Two studies (one in males, one in females) have suggested that even with the same 24-hour energy availability, athletes that more closely matched their calories coming in from food to the time of the day they were expending the most, were less likely to have reduced RMR (males) or menstrual dysfunction (females)."
That's interesting though, worth an experiment for me maybe :)
Intermittent Fasting can also throw off women's hormones btw. Not for everyone, but it can.

I know I get my period from about ~8-6 most week days.
I've found that fucking off to Spain during the week throws it right off :) -
• #12541
Yeah, I've backed-off from intermittent fasting in the last month or so. Mostly because I was just hungry but I've found that my weight is stable-ish and am climbing harder than ever when eating more regularly (although not necessarily more).
Also, food is nice.

Is this it? Is this one where you crack 90kg? Or big weekend planned?
Edit: and you've been away in your time off and still at 91kg? Respect!
Have you been doing any high intensity exercise? How does it work with that?
