Hey ! I would happily have a beer with you on monday as I move to Germany on tuesday for a few months. I'll keep the gt for now but you can have the yellow ratty track frame !
I would definitely go to Rodin's museum especially on a sunny day and if you fancy Claude Monet I would go to Musée de l'Orangerie.
If you are around la Bastille I would have a look at Alain Ducasse's factory (rue de la Roquette), go to la Place des Vosges, hunt for art galleries in Le Marais and get some wafles from Meert (rue Elzévir).
If the weather is nice, you can walk/ cycle on the Voie Georges Pompidou which is now car free.In termes of places to eat I mostly use lespetitestables.com as I can't spend much. If you end up needing to eat around Les Champs Elysées I would book a table at PDG.
At last, for bike stuff you have to go to La Bicyclette (rue Crozatier closed on Monday and Wenesday), they have a shop and a workshop with lovely things. Among that you are pretty sure to meet members of the parisian fixed community.
Shoot me a pm if you have any question !
Edit: I second @funky_d on both Palais de Tokyo and the Ile Saint Louis. If you go to Palais de Tokyo, have a look at La Fée Electricité in Musée d'Art Moderne which is next to Palais de Tokyo.

Bought at pomp.
It's a heap of shit. A bit rusty, all the bearings are shot, wheels / headset everything. Seatpost is stuck. But it was cheap.
So will be stripping it, painting it and replacing everything.

out of curiosity, what was the price? just to compare it to prices in my country

That picture is a gumtree ad personified.
-
• #534
Is that a large? Looks a bit small.
-
• #535
I won it for £70.
But as there was a dent that wasn't mentioned in the end it was £30.

I kind of think this too, it does look small. Sold as a 58.5cm tt though so I am inclined to say xl.
Geo is very similar to the gangsta.

yes! I love mine, quite similar to the BMW but at the same time very different, did 140 miles of touring on it with backloaded panniers and it was a dream.

I thought even XL was 57 tt?
Your HT looks shorter than my old XL:

Bargain. Nice one.

Strange, headtube does definitely look bigger on your one.
I will measure it up, the sizing is similar enough to the Brooklyn that I am confident it will fit fine. Lots of stem I imagine.
Looking forward to having a bikes with brakes and a freewheel again. Mainly for some variety. Miss my Cinelli but it was too expensive for what I was using it for.
Thinking doing an easton finishing kit on it. TRP brakes, same wheels I used on the Cinelli.
And paint it like army matte green.

If that Pompino was from eBay, I was watching that too! You got yourself a decent deal there, can't wait to see what you do with it

Measured it, it's definitely an L not an XL.
Effective top tube looks to be in the 56.5 area.Means I will need a very long stem... and will have a decent amount of seatpost but shouldn't be too bad. Is slightly taller but shorter than the Brooklyn.

It was! TBH I think that you dodged a bullet.
Things that where wrong with the listing:
Didn't mention dent.
Didn't mention rust.
Wrong size.
Wheels seized (said to be decent)
Headset need service.
Cranks mismatched and different sizes (said where same)
External BB cracked. -

Mad stem angle is doing wonders for my neck/back (still having alot of pain from accident ages ago)
Bike is a lot more enjoyable to ride.
-
• #545
Damn, I take back saying it was a decent deal- that sucks.
Also, been lurking your project thread for ages, your nelson is one of my favourite forum bikes
-
• #546
Rise stem can look good and this is testament to it. Esp worth it if it makes the bike better to ride.
-
• #547
@-cv- it might be salvagable if I can get the seatpost out. Going to strip the paint, de-rust and coat the whole thing and paint it matte green I think.
The nelson it is a goat! :)
@alialias nice i'm glad you think so as I think it looks a bit bookey to me but the comfort outweighs that, much less neck pain is bliss.

Been building up the Pomp over the last few months. Can't believe it was a year ago that I bought it, doesn't make sense where that time has gone...
Stripped and attacking seatpost (this took ages to get out + a hacksaw)
Finally
Primer
Decided to do the stem too
Then paint
Decals
Have started the clear coat
Need to clear coat the frame and do a few more coats on the forks to build up a good protective layer, might buy some more clear to do that.
Have got a pink Aerozine headset going on, ordered tektro brakes, a new gxp bb for some spare omniums I have, old wheels with a WI freewheel in the parts box, old zen chainring somewhere. Should look nice.
Next dilemma is pink brake cables or not, I am thinking yes.
Meanwhile the caad has been enjoying the snow, and the nelson is a commute workhorse. Brooklyn is in pieces.

great job, rattle can? any tips?
hijacking this to say that Palais de Tokyo has a great show on at the moment exploring the relationship between man and machine.
food wise Café St Regis on Ile St Louis (the smaller of the two islands in the Seine is a great traditional French Bistro that has been brought somewhat up to date in that it's lovely inside and has friendly service.
