  • Thanks all!

It's going well, patience is the best tip, every time I get impatient I end up scratching or chipping something and then have to fix it which never looks as nice. Only 2 minor blemishes on the whole frame (a piece chipped off when I was doing the decals).

Hence why I want to do extra clear coats, the paint is 2 layers but is still pretty thin, downside of rattle cans I guess.

Also sanding, lots of it, pretty much.

  • juicy painting

  • Cheers, managed to drop it last night and fuck one side of it... V annoyed, but the non-drive side looks good... Have painted over the scratches as best I can.

  • That on one is looking bangin! Whats the build gonna be? Matching annodised redy/pink headset, BB and hubs would look sick.

  • Gumwalls are also a must.

  • Nice job. Removing the paint - just sandpaper / wet and dry and lots or hard work?

  • Parts bin explosion and a few deliveries later. Just need levers and cables I think and it's done. Pretty sure I have a chain somewhere.

Main decision is black or pink brake cables outers, I think pink...

@pastry_bot paint stripper initially, then that too.

  • Pink will look sick

  • Listen to everything HP sauce says

  • If you want your bike in Anti

  • @timbre hubba hubba nice pomp! great work.

  • Ahah I might do black just because it means I can finish the build this weekend. But also Oorder pink too.

    Black is booooring

  • Done(ish)

This thing is pretty heavy compared to everything else I have ha.

Is a very comfy tank tho, helped by my incredibly low tyre pressures (too low, bottom out rim kinda low)

I need to sort the position, I feel a little too far forward / that it's too short. I think a layback post or not a flite will help that a lot.

If anyone want's to swap a layback thomson for a inline hit me up, will be putting the SMP on it too.

Oh and the brakes need better adjustment, pretty shit at the moment.

  • looks rad man...

  • liking that!

  • Looks great! Good work.

  • Holy seatpost Batman! Looking good.

I need to sort the position, I feel a little too far forward / that it's too short

You don't want to hear this, but in combination with so much seatpost showing, frame might be too small?

  • Thanks all!

@Tijs yeah I kinda knew it would be even before I started (the ebay ad for my frame had the wrong size, did intend to buy an XL). At some point in the future I will probably buy an XL if one comes up and transfer everything over (or another cinelli mash CX). For the moment it will be layback and even longer stem if I have to...

  • this looks so good mate, will keep an eye out for it on my commute! second best pomp paint job on the forum!

might be interested in the thomson if you need to get rid!

  • @timbre how does the pomp ride against the gangsta?

  • Stuck the SMP on and that fixed pretty much everything. Fits much better now, sorted the brakes, sorted tyres and some mudguard rub and my morning ride was way way better than yesterday.

Flite + inline isn't for me I think.

@hp93 will shout if I see you.

@Thrasher hard to compare as I have never rode the brooklyn with drops, they are similar, the pomp is much more fun to ride than I expected, corners well, and has the same weight behind it as the bmw. But it's not as nippy or quite as chuckable.

  • also whose is the best?
