Any question answered...

On principle I'm set in using some Deore DX brifters I found on a discarded MTB next to our bins. Not even joking.

If there's a road I think is dangerous (residential side road, 2 way and v narrow.. i regularly see people doing what must be approaching 40mph on it). I want the council to have a look at it and decide whether or not to encourage people to calm the fuck down, how do I go about this?

The two types of vehicles that do the majority of speeding around similar 20mph roads near me are:

Walking out in front of them to force them to slow down is my usual tactic. For the estate agent cars a quick trip into their local office to complain usually works for a while.

Complaining to the council may help (see if you can get some other local residents to complain separately), with enough complaints they'll probably set up a traffic survey there (the two air hoses stapled to the road connected to a box chained to a lamp post) to assess the mean/median/max speeds.

Can anyone recommend mobile phone insurance?

I have it through my bank account and they seem to have contracted it to Aviva. I have used it twice and both times Aviva have been utterly outstanding.

Fair enough. My experience of trying to run brifters on the tandem is shitty shifting. I think the frame flexs enough to screw with the indexing...

Di2 on a tandem just seems wrong. But it makes a lot of sense...

Specific, standalone phone insurance will be more expensive than an extension to your home contents insurance, but more comprehensive: ie you'll get cover for a wider range of fuck-ups and less likely to get bitten by the small print, but it'll cost you more.

Check who the underwriter of the policy is: "cheap phone insurance 4 u" will just be an agent for the actual insurer and don't write the cheques.

Erm ... because they're selling it as caplets, tablets, capsules and liquid capsules? :)

Isn't that just restating the question? Perhaps people find one or other difficult to swallow, but four seems overkill.

It's a mixture of easier to swallow and marketing and even though they're exactly the same capsules are often perceived as more effective because of the way they look. It's mental but it works and allows companies to charge a massive premium for the same product. Vegans out there should be wary though, the capsules are often gelatin as is the coating on the caplets.

And the tablets are often varnished with shellac...won't somebody think of the poor beetles, ruthlessly exploited for our convenience, and all we ever do for them is clear up their waste.
