time to rebuild and regrese, if the bb is a cartrige, take it to the shope and complin untill they give ya a new one

Clicks are annoying. Its all a matter of reducing the potential causes.
My first guess is that your BB is loose. I'd pull the cranks and BB, clean, regrease and reinstall (pretty much what TheBrick said). I'd also check all your chainring bolts are tight.
Might also be worth trying with different pedals on the bike and regreasing seat post and bolts.
Once you've done that, then its probably time for a new BB or seeking professional help.

i should probably seek professional help anyway, but that's neither here nor there
thanks for the comments all. will take a look this weekend.

I just love a quiet bike. One of the main things that got me into riding fixed
come to think of it.So anyway, i was inspired by Dexter's recent comment:
"51x20 (Campagnolo C-Record 165 X Phil Wood 20T = 1/8 Silence) Love it!"
Have you got a totally silent drivetrain?
If not call noise stoppers on 0800 STOP-CLICK for totally free no obligation quote today...Which is quieter Phill or EAI?
Which chain runs quietest with the above?
And what about chainrings? (I have bog standard miche at the mo)I'm looking for combinations like dexter did above.
Alternatively if you have discovered a noisesome combo let us know as well so i can avoid the hell out of it.
(All combos should be dead straight chainline wise natchurellement!)Hit me!

I am riding 48x16 Miche Primato chainset Goldtech hub (stripped and very used) 1/8. When I first started riding after I built it with a very tight chain it was silent.... recently it has got very noisy.... Actually, I'm not sure if that helps.... I bet there are a lot of people out there with Miche chainset and Goldtech hubs!

miche chainset, goldtec hubs! EAI cog izumi chain (the mid range chain and steel cog) it's not quiet but the noise is a constant purr rather than an eccentric clatter which is what annoyed me before (with a cheap cog) the chain chatters a bit when leg braking because of the slack but this doesn't bother me.
lube makes a difference too. -

MrSmith lube makes a difference too.
Definitely. I found dry lube absolutely crap, really noisy. I've got Finish Line wet lube at the mo, nice and quiet.

I had a slightly crooked chainline before and it was silent. Now my chainline is perfect but it's noisy. I use EAI Cog, Sugino zen chainring, halfords bmx chain.
Might get a can of WD40 and go crazy. -

Clean = silent, dirty = purry. Shameful O.T.P. bike though, so my drivetrain's straight.

i had chain noise issues recently did two things i took chain of to clean it in parrafin, jam jar, lid on, good shake you know the drill then while cleaning noticed one of the links was stiff the link wasn't in properly, link remover pushed it back on and now smooth bit of oil, silencio

Parrafin is bang on, strips everything away. Put some in an old household vaporiser to spray a bit on yer chainring/sprocket too, works a treat!

Mine bb's already configured to do that but I'll take some of your grit.
Meet you in town with a bucket and spade then shall I? -

my drivetrain today was silent as a dead mute.
yesterday it made some noise though.
my fucking saddle creaks, it drives me insane. I MUST HAVE COMPLETE SILENCE, I only want to hear the tyres on the tarmac and the traffic.
actually don't mind chain noise, it's other shit that bugs me.

my freewheel is giving out a nasty precussional beat that usually signifies complete meltdown followed by me cracking my nuts on the headset and falling off along a packed and heaving Kings Road. Marvellous.

Things have been noisy since I got a new rear sprocket. Is there a wearing in period after which it quietens down?
-
• #25
Yes. How old is your chain?
Roadies typically change cassette with chain to prevent an old chain/cassette wearing out the other. For fixed stuff I've not bothered. It doesn't seem to matter so much.
Problem:
Driveside BB or pedal spindle making a 'click' noise/jolt every 2nd crank revolution (when the driveside crank gets to about 4 o'clock).
It goes away when I pedal one-footed on the non-drive side, which makes me think it's the right pedal spindle. Everything seems tight. It's an 06 Langster with the stock BB.
Any suggestions as to what the problem is?
Thanks in advance
