"we are aware of a number of products designed to adapt QR15 to the QR12 TA standard including: http://www.notubes.com/Stans-Hub-Conversions-C145.aspx, http://www.hopetech.com/product/axle-conversion-kit/ and http://www.wheelbuilder.com/dt-swiss-axle-conversion-kits.html. We have not tested any of them so cannot guarantee that they will work with the QR15 PD-8X. In terms of PD-8X-M, SP's current forecast for availability is 2017."

Think my SP 15mm TA CLD hub was £122 from Spa. Whenever I've tried to make something on a bike do something else it wasn't designed to do by way of a adapter, I always end up disappointed with the results. Wouldn't want your TCR to be finished because of a £12 adapter would you?

Yeah, I wanted to be riding it today.
I have a 15mm SP. I need to take it down to 12mm axle.

I already finished TCR4 using this very same 15mm hub running a QR adapter.
There's literally a photo of it a page back :P -

Someone sent my extra long knurled fork bung back in the warranty frame...
So I'm going to need another one of those too.

Okay the rear wheel has been cleaned and lubed (with the wrong shit but I'm beyond caring, I'll get some TP-42 off ebay).
The new end caps fit and it's locked into the frame. Problem is the disc caliper is nowhere near the rotor and there appear to be no adapters to make it fit my 160mm rear rotor.

This build is going well.

Oh it gets better. The caliper is actually fucked. So I got the wheel in, all good and then proceeded to pump brake fluid onto the floor from the piston. Dead piston or seal or somethign. New caliper required.
I'll be riding the almost indestructible PX Stealth tomorrow.

I have an unused Shimano flatmount caliper if that's what you're after? 105 equivalent level
-
• #237
Thanks dude, I've already ordered one though. No sweat.
-
• #238
has this been built and ridden yet?
-
• #239
What do you reckon? If I order a part on Saturday, when do you think it will turn up?
-
• #240
Oh, Ultegra calipers are out of stock for a month. Should I go 105? Do they work as well? Do they use the same pads as my off-group flat mount calipers (BR805 or whatever they're called)?

I rode another 200k with the missus yesterday so I'm all chill again. Fri night to Sun morning were just anger anger anger. I don't even think it was about the bike. Maybe some kind of hormonal imbalance and everything sucked. I think it's unfair having a come-down without the fucking high.
-
• #244
I don't have the bike any more. I needed the steerer cut and I don't have a saw that would do it straight enough and since the brake was fucked I'm just getting them to swap it out. If the 105 calipers take the Lo4C pads then I don't care what spec. level the caliper is. It's just a training bike. Discs suck.

I suppose all this is what Kinesis means when they say all these features are "a recipe for adventure" in the product description.

The world will be a better place when all post-mount brakes are dead, all 15mm thru axles (or any other road variant) are dead and anyone who tries to introduce a BB standard is hung, drawn and quartered for the mere suggestion.
-
• #247
then there will be a new variant for handlebars .. 40mm clamp so the bars can take all hydro hoses and cables internally
-
• #248
Deda's 35mm didn't catch on but maybe hose routing would swing it

The chainstay isn't hollow so the RD Di2 has to run outside the frame.
Unlike the 4S Disc there's no access ports on the top tube of this bike which means no nice way of hiding my rear light cable. Annoying.
I have parts here in a box I have no idea about...
