Synapse entered my head again. Thanks cyclingtips! The hi-mod frames are still £2.5k but for +150g and +£200 I could get a whole bike with Ultegra in the non hi-mod version.
Anyone ridden both versions of the synapse frame?

• #255
I have the non hi mod can’t comment on the money gun version.
So I can’t answer your question. Though I’d hazard a guess that an extra squeeze when shitting and tweaking tyre pressure would have a greater difference than spending the extra money.

I don't think the cheap version is available as a frameset though.

Buy complete and strip it
Probably better value -

I was tempted by the Ultegra Di2 Disc one... that I thought it was £2700 but that was for mechanical. It's actually £3800 for the Di2 one. That's getting spendy, considering I have two road bikes hanging up in my room already.
Hi-Mod frameset £2500 + £1300 Ult Di2 Disc groupset - cranks - wheels = ?
So for a bit less (maybe) I could own the Hi-Mod frameset and the Di2 bits I need. I'd still need to sell the bits I don't need and then buy aerobars and Di2 aerobar shifters.

BB30? why self harm?
-
• #260
I've never had any issues with BB30 and the bike ticks a lot of boxes.
Also, you're asking me about why self harm? Have you seen what I do to myself? :P

... and you're back in the room!
So only 8 months on the road and the Tripster that replaced the 4S was killed by an inattentive driver last week so I'm wondering what next. They've fixed the old 4S problem by making the rear end 142x12 thru-axle instead of QR so I could go back to my old frame, essentially, but then there's this new thing they've got, the RTD which is interesting (I like the hidden cables):
RTD: https://www.kinesisbikes.co.uk/Catalogue/Models/Racelight/RTD
New 4S https://www.kinesisbikes.co.uk/Catalogue/Models/Racelight/4S-DISC
The Tripster and every other bike on the market is available still.
I've decided no carbon, must fit 32mm tyres, disc only, di2, 2x, 12mm thru-axle f/r, not pink, not grey, cheap is good because I'll just kill it in 12months anyway.

Bombtrack
? Never heard of them. Is that a solid seatstay?

Is that a solid seatstay?
Interesting question. They look like normal seat stays to me? Not particularly small in diameter or anything.

Fork looks interesting.

I meant chainstay

Ah, the yoke part? Yeah that part is solid:

Looks like a small section at the BB for tyre/crank clearance and then the flat mount brake section built into the NDS dropout
-
• #269
Ah, but it does seem to have routing for Di2 unlike the Tripster.

it does seem to have routing for Di2
Now I get what you mean. That's pretty cool.

Mason Resolution fits your criteria.

As does the Bowman Pilgrims Disc;
-
• #273
No internal routing for the disc hoses though, if that matters.
-
• #274
I do prefer everything to be internal (I'm sure you've seen how shonky mine is when it isn't).

The Mason looks good. At least, the cabling is better thought out than everything else.
oh halo!
