  • 10 speed Veloce. I like the lever hood shape too but generally I find low level Shimano to work far better than low level campag.

  • You mean 10 or 11 spd shifters? As said, the Shimergo setup is working really well on four bikes.

Well, the main issues is that due to the cable pull difference, Shimano required a bit more effort to shift whether Campagnolo take less effort, this actually mean the cable housing is under greater stress.

When running 10 speed Veloce with an 8 speed Shimano set-up, it work well, but have to trim the housing every couple of months like this (normal but shouldn't happen that quick).

  • Loads of cables do that. Even full Shimano setups.

  • Not as frequency is my point, picture is a poorer illustration, but in my case they usually damaged the end cap.

  • Hm, both commuter and tourer here (each with 5000km) have still their first set of cables - no issues....
Ah yes, one has the older Veloces with the smaller hoods, shifting is on those a little bit more "clicky" and with this feels a little bit higher in quality. But I don't complain about the new ones, really like the ergonomics.

  • @multiburst

That's awesome, really love the paint! Can't decide if it might look better with fewer spacers and more rise on the stem.

  • If you ever decide to get rid of the Smoke and Dart...

  • If you ever decide to get rid of the Smoke and Dart...

Sure, will let you know. But you know that they available again, with updated rubber components? Paid like 33€ for each in a saleout.

    @Woodster Thanks!

  • Hanging with @Tychom Orlowski..

  • Added some Rivendell Rolly Polys, bottle cages and a Flite to the Silk Road.

If only it were a bit bigger it would always be the first choice.

  • If only it were a bit bigger it would always be the first choice.

Can you not just flip the stem upside down? or fitted a compact drop handlebar that enable the hood to be a bit higher?

  • Maybe I'm being stupid but wouldn't that be worse if it's already too small? Probably wants a longer stem if anything.

  • Fair point, there is compact drop handlebar that are quite long in reach but probably won't be as long as the one pictured which looked to be possibly 100-110mm reach.

The stem look like a -17 which is pretty aggressive, flipping it should put the handlebar higher, unless you're happy with the drop.

  • Fitted my Pelago San Sebastian with some winter knobbies (Continental AT Ride) and flat pedals:

  • I think this is about as close as I fancy going, too much post out and I think it'll be a bit of a risk with an old alu Cannondale.

  • Swapped out the swept backs on the commuter, not as chill but feel a hell of a lot sturdier.

  • V6, V7 or V8? Loving ours so far (V7)

  • What happened in the sofa?

  • Yeah, weird as hell. Little single bed next to huge sofa. It's either a bedroom, in which case get rid of the sofa and get a decent bed, (and put your bike elsewhere) or a living room, in which case why is there a single bed in there? Get a futon.

And as you say, why start hoovering the sofa then stop to take a picture of your bike half way through?

(Note: before you all abuse me for not sleeping with my bikes, I actually have two bikes in my bedroom. But I live in a tiny shared flat whilst that person has a large enough bedroom or living room that they can fit spare furniture in)

Edit: maybe he found the frame under the sofa cushions. I've only ever found 20p, I'm jealous.

  • Finished my @Tijs inspired wheelset. These will be fitted to my kids transporter along with some sram 10 speed bits.

  • Finished my @Tijs inspired wheelset.

I'm gonna put that on my resume. Although I personally rotate the tyres 180 degrees.

Wheels are looking good! Very shiny.

  • Robot vacuums is where it's at.
