I spent all week in the house drinking.
I am tilting in to that at the moment. Feeling bloated and gross in the mornings, even after just one bottle. Looking forward to getting back out again at some point soon.

Fun lunchtime run along Regent's canal; got a real cross-section of London life.

did you see any mankini wearers?

2017 is a return to the London marathon. Target 2:35. I'll plan the rest of the year once that is out of the way.
Well that didn't go very well. Best run of the year was the Round Norfolk Relays for CONAC in September. Most enjoyable run was the Gravy Pud Fell Race at the start of December.
2018 targets: Get off road more; learn to swim; remember that running is a fun hobby, not a a punishment; striding edge.

striding edge
I think I'm going to do Helvellyn Tri again next year which involves an enjoyable run up striding edge :-).
One of the best Tris I've races apart from my transition bag (containing ALL my kit bar my bike and what I was wearing for the run) got nicked from transition.

I think we had a club/training group turn-out record this morning for the Sunday run, 14 runners! Longest run for me since Beachy Head Marathon, 17 miles @ 7:19/m, Blackheath, Greenwich Park, river path out to Woolwich Ferry and back via VMLM red route. Long runs definitely feel easier in company.
Who's up for a parkrun tomorrow morning then? Xmas Eve tradition for me involves drinking, late supper and very late night/early morning to bed, but I've got a bit of a mojo on at the moment, and could be swayed by the 10am start at Dulwich Park.

I might be there with a bright yellow pushchair.
This is depending on my Achilles pain and dragging 3 yr olds away from warmth and presents. Might be a tough sell.
I can try and DAS if prompted

Back treadmill plodding and pledged I'd do a race this year. Due to the rehab situation, turned out to just be a Parkrun. Targeted 23 mins, ended up with a baffling 20.38, so very happy and maybe going back into the 19s next year. Never thought I'd see the day...

^ nice one.
Enjoy the Xmas races & runs folks.
2017 summary: 11/12ths of an amazing year with best effort at 5km and lots of fun long days out. Now it's full on weight gain effort and rehab for me.
See you in 2018.

21.18 for me and the twins today. Achilles was murder, but less murderous than us staying at home whilst the dinner was cooking.
we were second buggy home, I reckon we'd have been first if we'd have set off near the front. I didn't see any other doubles though. my niche record remains.
both twins slept through the whole spectacle as per usual

Double buggy parkrun, nice one! I squeezed a sub-18 at Dulwich feeling horrendous but managed to out-sprint a fairy. MsPub had earlier set a course record at Hilly Fields pr having had a much more sensible Xmas Eve, so I suspect she would've beaten me today. Still, a good tempo run in the bank.

Any south London clubs do track sessions on Wednesday? Mate does Runhead on Tuesdays but wants to do something to work on speed. He's just broken 17 mins for 5k, 2:48 marathon so no slouch.
-

For some reason most clubs do track sessions on Tuesdays. That also seems to go for the Hanson’s method. Is there a traditional reason for this? Similar to how educational institutions in the UK have sport clubs on a Wednesday ?

I wonder if it's like most sports: Saturday and Sunday is match/race. So fits in on Tuesday, Thursday, sat/sun.

Anyone else suffering with a sinus infection? Managed one slow run in 11 days and I’m going spare.

Does anyone know anyone who runs with psoriatic arthritis?

Anyone got any race vest suggestions? Looking to get kit sorted in plenty of time this year not leave it all to the three weeks before my main race as normal... Quite like the look of the UD Olson vest but hard to look at anything over the price of the Kalenji that Decathlon have for £20. Anyone used either/any others and got any thoughts?
-
• #16997
^^^ no but rest, it'll pass
^^ no, sorry. Imagine it's a case of managing exercise around symptoms / flare ups?
^ at £20 it's cheap enough to allow for the 'buy cheap buy twice' theory, but it might do the job.

^Yeah. I'm just starting out again at running, my plan is only ever 5kms fast (as I can), 10 to work, and then the occasional to and from work.
I'm bedding in a second biological treatment and I'm still unsure what to expect.
Also. My Adidas boost aren't as nice as my Nike structures.....
Sigh. -

Adidas boost
I retired mine after about 4 runs. Pretty sure they were the cause of a calf injury. Too squishy. Nice for walking about in tho
Plodded around Brockwell park Saturday.
Plodded home from Herne Hill today.
Very tempted to plod into work tmrw am.
Will be plodding around Christmas.
