  • O'Leary school of advertising.

  • Go cyborg for instant fame... You could spend your whole career working diligently in medical physics with little recognition, but stick an RFID under your skin and the tabloids beat a path to your door, Kevin Warwick made a career out of it.

  • It is not the first time that sexism in cycling has made headlines.

In 2013, Slovakian cyclist Peter Sagan, the current road race world champion, said sorry for pinching the bottom of a hostess at the end of the Tour of Flanders race.

Why is okay to have an attractive lady kissing the cheek of the winner, but not okay for Sagan to pinch her arse? Why is the line drawn there? Surely it's sexist to hire an attractive lady whose job as a "hostess" is literally just to stand next to the winner looking nice?

(Disclaimer: obviously I am not suggesting that what Sagan did is okay)

  • "Why is okay to have an attractive lady kissing the cheek of the winner, but not okay for Sagan to pinch her arse?"

    Consent???

But yes, the role of the hostesses also is pretty sexist in itself as well.

  • Yeah, I'm not trying to say that what Sagan did is okay. I just think it's fucking stupid to complain about one thing being sexist whilst ignoring another.

I wonder how much choice the hostess is giving about kissing a sweaty race winner, for instance?

  • This. But haterz gonna hate

  • I wonder how much choice the hostess is giving about kissing a sweaty race winner, for instance?

The choice not to be a hostess perhaps ?

  • Mugabe is gone. Arguably one of the better things to happen in an otherwise dismal 2017. My cousins in Bulawayo are chuffed but also very wary of what is to come. ZANU-PF isn’t exactly clean as a whistle.

  • I'm sure they're right to be concerned. Emmerson Mnangagwa was (allegedly) heavily involved in the Gukurahundi massacres (he was in charge of national security at the time). He's a very, very nasty piece of work.

  • Ha!

  • Sure does, but as big a twat? I don't think so.

  • Youre right. He's not as big, just the biggest.

  • Awkward.

How can a workforce be unemployed?

  • So in your opinion, the guy who implanted a chip in his hand is a bigger twat than the person who decided to try and de-activate that chip? Why?

  • There's a whole other thread for that, @.mo.

  • I had an internal debate about whether it should be in flat earth thread or not.
    Reeeeeeepost.

  • Because instead of just being a dude into cybernetics hes now got a useless piece of silicone in his arm. Couple that with his dumb on purpose name.
Clearly doesnt think things through enough.
    Ironic for a cyborg...

  • Except he doesn't because twat no1 turned the wrong one off.

"cyborg" for whatever reason decided to try something to solve a problem, even if that problem wasn't really a problem beyond, I can't be bothered to carry an oyster card around with me.

The guy from Opal's only desire was to put a stop to that.

  • my first thought is "what would he do if someone wanted to cut off his arm and use it to get free stuff"

I'd much rather someone mug me and take my wallet.

  • That's literally got nothing to do with it, unless twat at Opal tried to turn off that specific chip for that reason. In which case, why give out any at all in case any of them get stolen?

  • People are implanted with pacemakers in order to stay alive. Meow bloke implanted a chip to save him reaching in his pocket when using public transport. A chip owned and operated by someone else. Twat.

  • Opal cancelled meows registered chip.
Meow didnt use his own chip in his arm.
    It is probably still working.

What if the opal man didnt turn it off but they stopped using those chips?
Hed still be a twat with a useless piece of someone elses silicon issued from a council/governing body/municipal service.
Or it was bank card chip from a shared account you no longer have access to.
Doubt they can be reprogrammed, the issuer sure as hell wont know the (now surgical) procedure.

And if you dont agree with my opinion thats fine, dont be a twat tho (jk, chill)

90s throwback cyber punk edge lords >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

That whole article reeks of "down with the eatablishment! Fuck the government" as well. Groan.
