ha ha ... that's over my budget.
GKs are £60 for a pair, which feels like I'm pushing it...
-
• #5206
But these are tubeless
-
• #5207
I didn't, cheaped out and got Conti Sport Contact 2 in 42c because they were 8 quid at planet x.
-
• #5208
So are GKs... and this is for a bike with non tubeless rims. old skool.
-
• #5209
So are GKs
Not the slick ones

"Sidewall colour: peanut butter"

can someone convince @Sparky that these are 700c?
https://www.bike24.com/1.php?content=8;product=144725;menu=1000,2,103,105
He is "confused" and says they are 28" and won't fit.
-
• #5213
Just click the drop down to choose size. Says 700c there. As well as 622. As well as 28”. Which are all the same thing

This might help him out
Edit: beaten to it by Phil

"Some German tire companies use this non-standard designation for 622 mm ("700C") tires"
EDIT Beaten to it by Phil and Max. FML I'm old.

Come on man, keep up
-
• #5217
Why do they add 2 to the width in the x-622 style naming?
-
• #5218
Fuck you and the horse you rode in on.
-
• #5219
Thanks all.

• #5220
Hot damn... Build a bike around those tyres?

Kojaks are killing me with the constant punctures. I need to write these last set off as a loss and order something else today. Are Marathon Supremes the only way to go, and if so, any recommendations on where to get at the best price? (£30.99 at Wiggle)
The Vittoria Hypers look interesting, especially at £13 at Planet X, but they are coming out alongside the Kojaks in tests at Bicycle Rolling Resistance.
-
• #5222
Hypers are like marathon supreme i.e. one of the best.
-
• #5223
i know folk disagree but i'd like to reiterate my belief that hypers are sketchy in the wet. I've had a few close encounters as has a clubmate. Not gatorskin levels or anything but I wouldn't be flying around tight corners comfortably using them.
-
• #5224
Gonna sound like a broken record, what pressure you're running them?
I found that even at 10psi more provide a lots less grip in the wet.
-
• #5225
this was a while ago now but I think it was around 65psi at 32mm (i'm 92kg)
I normally use a different bike to ride in the wet, but the times I got caught they worked fine.
