anyone have any experience of Panaracer Gravel King tyres? I am looking for a 28mm gravel tire as my rims and brakes won’t allow more but I would like to go on towpaths and not feel like death.
I expect that it won’t make much difference as still only 28mm but any advice would be greatly appreciated...

Very fair, he's heavily biased and everything he writes points to buying something he sells.

Read the thread for a bit, loads been written about them. There's a search tool at the right of the page.
I loved my 32c (non-SK) gravelkings -

Yeah they've got paselas for £16 and Clement Strada LGG for £13 -- steal! except they don't have the later in gumwall :(

Am I doing it wrong? Always riding don't seem to have any tyres except surly knards...

Great thank you very much!

I see, I was doing it wrong...

No gum, no buy, I know that. But LGGs have been fantastic for me. Slightly woody but most puncture free tyre I've ever had, including road, gravel and some more rocky stuff when I got lost.

I've found them sketchy in the wet - had an off on a roundabout the other week, and was taking it gently. I run about 60/70psi front/back, at about 105-110kg AUW. Will try dropping that a bit, but I'm now very wary. They're great in the dry, mind.

Could be that everyone was wax lyricaling it all summer, before it start to get wet and cold.

I had some strange cornering on my loup loup pass and a reduction in tyre pressure has helped.
but how/why??
-
• #5245
tire probably wasn't seated on the rim properly and the high pressure wasn't allowing to get back into place. Drop it a bit and the rim snapped back on?
-
• #5246
Maybe, I thought I was going to fall over while cornering...
-
• #5247
Increase contact point, less vibration causing the tyres to skip on loose surface etc.

I'm too dumb to work out that table. I weigh 67kg. Tyres are 35mm. What sort of PSI does that call for? I've been running around 80, which hasn't changed since I was 75kg. And I've been running 100psi on 25mm...

go with 45/35 and see, hugely depends what you have inside tyres .. latex and sealant (tubeless) will reduce the pinch flat at lower pressure risk.

What's the concensus on winter fixed commuter tyres, still Ribmo?
I used to slip and slide a lot on gatorskins and ribmos when riding fixed, so I'm super cautious these days and never lean in the wet.
Regarding pressures, how does one calculate the optimum?
