Has anyone actually installed the new Campag H11 discs? I am having terrible trouble trying to a) find, and b) understand why I need the UT-DB010 'oil level tool' shown here:
https://youtu.be/oeSRrK1BOZo?t=2m3s
It's referenced in the Campag video above and also in the tech manual...yet it doesn't come in the box with the levers/calipers, nor the rotors, nor the bleed kit...and it doesn't seem available anywhere to buy separately.
Has anyone any experience to help me?
best, Jon

I have experience of Shimano ones which are easy to set up.

So do Shimano have an equivalent insert/tool when filling the hose/reservoir with oil?
I am struggling to see exactly what it’s ‘for’, let alone actually getting hold of one...if I need it.

Isn't that just a spacer? DIY one?

it is for holding the pistons apart when you fill the brake with fluid.
(find a piece of plastic that is 10,5mm thick and drill a hole in it for the brakepad pin.)

Has anyone ever compiled a list of compatibility of Shimano pads? Every time I go to buy a new pair, I have to search to check if B01s is compatible with K02s is compatible with........

@svendhöek - this is very helpful indeed, thank you!
I'll make my own. Even if I can find one, the Campag one will doubtless be stupidly expensive...

Shimano probably has. But the codes are easy enough to read. First letter is pad type and whether finned or not, A is the old one with the little hook, B is old deore that Trp and others now use other letters are mainly newer style one. Next two numbers are material, 01 & 02 being resin, 03 & 04 being sintered, higher numbers are newer but all compatible. Last letters are backing plate material, alu, steel, Ti or combined with the finned ones.

I'm told Alligator branded stuff works well- cheap on ebay.

is anyone making mass produced frames (with geo similar to a cannondale caad10, ie not too mamil) disc frames with thru axles and BSA bb?

Buying my first set of discs (bb7s) from PX, and there's two iso mount options: 20IS and 0IS. What's the difference between these two?

I want to try to improve the performance of my spyres with some compassionless cable and BMX cables seem the most cost-effective option. Will the round end (on the right of the photo) work with a set of 105 levers?

I am not sure emotive cables would be better

It's the outer that's important, you can use whatever decent inner with it.

This. Get some Goodridge inner and you're good to go!

Jagwire slick stainless gets my vote, but whatevs is fine.

Crossposted from On One Owners thread:
Does the Tektro RL520 levers works with BB7 Road mechanical disc calipers? It says it will pull more cable with Road BB7s than on the BB7 MTB ones.
*Edit
Read again. It's the other way around. BB7 with RL520 grips. BB7R with RL520 doesn't.
As per Bikeradar -

Yeah, the 520 is the lever for long pull, so bb7 mtn, full size v brake etc.

Just noticed something with the bb7 on the front of my Day One that might be helpful to others.
I was fitting new pads, not entirely needed but it’s been super squeaky recently so thought I may as well, and noticed that the tab for pulling them out was hitting the is-post adapter on that side, meaning it sat at a pissed angle when retracted.
I don’t suppose this should make much difference with the squeakiness being that the pad should move off this when the brake is pulled but it should mean more clearance between the pads when relaxed so less rubbing when giving it some out the seat etc.
I just chopped a bit off the tab. Can’t see that doing so will hurt anything and the pad definitely retracts better now.
Pictured you can see the trimmed pad now in situ and the original pad showing a bit of wear on the back of the tab.

I had to do similar to my Maguras on the Inbred to run it with the PT disc rotor.

I was looking for this too and the answer I came up with was: no. I don’t know why Canyon don’t do an alu disc version of the Ultimate in the same way they have an alu disc version of their Endurace.

it is a shame isnt it. maybe over the next few years we will start to see some more. otherwise I am going to have to get one custom made orrrrr
but it has some stupid fucking weird press fit bottom bracket standard

where can i actually buy compressionless cables online? Nowhere seems to have Jagwire in stock. I need XL because it appears most are designed for rim brakes and so won't reach down to a disc caliper.
They do have enough length, I think. I'll give it a go and report back using @edscoble method. Worst case scenario is I'll have to rebleed I guess.
Thanks guys!
