Admittedly I think most peeps have never really thought about it and society has normalised it, however, if they have chosen that it is acceptable, then it's a bit effed up.
This is the thing. I can accept that everyone comes to change in their own time - I was, at one point, ignorant of the consequences of consuming animal products. But once I found out, I stopped. The same is true of flying, buying fast fashion, living a very consumerist lifestyle, etc. - these things are normalised, so we do them without thinking about it. But once you think about it, you realise you have to change. I don't judge people who "don't know any better" (blergh, that sounds so condescending and douch-y) but am very much starting to lose patience with those who do. I have a friend who works in conservation - meat for every meal, several long-haul flights a year, and an endless wardrobe of clothes made by sweatshop labour. I don't say anything, obviously, being British. But it's very hard to understand.

Awfully sorry, Oli, and not meaning to mirror your reason for not being able to do next week, but I'm going to a gig instead. Apologies. Let's do this soon.

If you've ever had a burning desire to understand how inconsistent and contradictory people's views can be, read this:
I think it's important to understand that, but it's still an unpleasant read.

Also, I went to FED by Water for the first time today and had a very good lasagne and a very poor tiramisu. Unfortunately, they'd already run out of the cake my mate raved about (he'd had the last slice). I'll try something like that next time.

Didn't know it was World Vegan Day today until the 1,000,000 instagram posts... here's something from the Standard site with no anti-vegan comments... yet!

The Bangers and Mash at Manna are very good indeed .
The best burger I've tried in London is the Hippo Rampage at Sanctuary Vegan in Fulham

In 2014 and 2015, there were wonderful World Vegan Day evenings at Karamel, hosted by Louise, inventor of World Vegan Day. Sadly, there wasn't one last year and there isn't one this year. I really hope they'll do them again in future years.

Sanctuary Vegan is great , the fish and chips are amazing too it even comes with a seaweed skin on the faux fish it's hard to tell it's not fish . Having said that I find it hard to go past the Hippo Rampage burger every time I go .
The raw cheesecake is good too .
The atmosphere is very relaxed you can bring dogs and BYO and it's not too pricey . -

The pop-ups at Craving Coffee mostly have vegan options.
https://www.cravingcoffee.co.uk/tottenham-socialHaven't been yet, but hearing good things about Torshi at Five Miles.
http://www.torshi.shop/i/menu.pngCafe Lemon on West green road for a quick vegan brunch.
Nothing exclusively vegan in the area yet.
I know I should try and accept their choices. But I fundamentally disagree with their choices. So, at the end of the day, I can't respect them.
