Maybe same as you then as only orders 22nd June.
Look forward to it!

Ordered mine on the 30th of July.
Hopefully I’ll get it before Christmas.

Have they done anything to improve their navigation? I've had a Hammerhead for a couple of years but only used it a handful of times after it's taken me on repeating loops and along residential paths.

Nicey nice! I'm hoping this is gonna be 'the one'

My understanding is that is one of the reasons for the delay. This blog post makes for interesting reading on that exact point: https://blog.hammerhead.io/delay-tradeoff-better-mapping-241d193c507d

Honestly, my Garmin has been nothing but a headache for almost a year now, so I have my fingers firmly crossed.

The karoo is a whole different beast!
-

I can see how more accurate mapping might reduce the incidence of sending you down the wrong route, but it doesn't mean it won't still send you on a repeating loop. The issue I experienced was in directional data, it didn't know that a particular junction split into two different routes.

Again, my reading of their material is that they’ve developed/evolved, as opposed to replicating.
Of course, this is all theory until this (finally!) arrives!

Slightly concerning that they don't have the "critical proprietary material we need to initiate Karoo’s production" yet (particularly as their own Twitter account confirmed only last night that they would start shipping this week)..

FFS
It does look pretty big and ugly here too!
-
• #688
Christ, that'd be nearly visible from a GPS satellite.
-
• #689
It has it's own gravitational field.

It certainly isn’t a small unit but, if the company is to be believed, it does contain an awful lot to require the size!
Are any other Karoo peeps here somewhat taken aback by how visceral some are being on their Facebook updates? Surely people appreciate that products do have their delays?
-
• #691
I’m really indifferent. It’ll come.
I don’t use fb.
-
• #692
People are the worst.
-
• #693
I became mildly impatient for a moment, then pulled myself together, appreciating it’s basically a crowdfunded effort and the delay is effectively out of their hands.
It’s pure stupidity to think otherwise. It’s not like they have a product and they’re not sending it to people.

Stop being so reasonable, this is the internetz
-
• #695
Personally I'd be happier to NOT keep getting emails from them telling me about all the production processes and problems... Because every time I see 'hammerhead' pop up in my email I think it's going to be a shipping notification! :(

• #696
Can ask a stupid, lazy prick question? I know that if I scour the forum for a whole evening I'll be able to piece together the information I need but I'm hoping someone can give me a steer...
-
• #697
I guess not :-D
-
• #698
But your question just asked for a steer, what does that mean? Tell us what you want and I’m sure someone can help.

Yeah fair enough. I want to mount a computer of some sort on my bars becuase I'm forever stopping to check my phone or map. I'd ideally like to use my iPhone because money. Also I hear Garmins are crap. Is the battery life on the iPhone a dealbreaker? Is there a consensus on here as to the best solution for accurate, easy to use and follow, long-lasting GPS that can be mounted in an unobtrusive way?

Get a Giant Neostrack £150 great bit of kit
FYI @skinny and @Black_Rainbow_Project , I mailed them and was told mine would be shipped early November (my order was 23rd June 2017).
On that basis, and on the basis they said shipping starts from the end of October, I’d like to imagine that yours will be on their way soon.
Pretty excited/impatient now.
