I had one as my first decent car, really liked it. As mentioned simple to fix and work on and a multitude of spares and upgrades available (moss motors will give you an idea of this). It was a nice drive and at over 6' quite comfortable. Problems I recall all revolved around rust, the sills were a known weak point but an "easy" fix and also along the top of the rear wings. When I had mine the rubber bumper version was cheaper and I presume this is still the case. I'd love to have one again and think they look nicer than the soft top.

How can you improve on perfection?
you'd lower it, tech-screw some plastic arches on it and turn the wheels on their sides...
hehe :)

woot - awesome. I saw that was for sale a while back.
I looked at a yellow one when I bought the b. I wish I bought it. too small inside, for me - there's more room in the baby elan than the +2

You did mention this a while back? Or did I imagine that?
Has the work started? Wonder how many chassis the car has had? What rear suspension will it have?

Car Auction on Saturday, any idea what I should be looking to pay for either of these?
-
• #37589
Why are they being sold at auction? Get the going rate from ebay (pretty common cars) and knock a third off?

Will do. -

Yeah maybe. Work has begun. It is actually, shockingly, the original chassis.
-
• #37592
Ah, in that case maybe a third is too harsh.
