All this talk of Old cars with low mileage has got me scared. Today I put a deposit on a 2013 car with 22k miles. It’s been serviced every year though, unlike Dammits latest moneypit wagon find.

I see what you mean. Still over 5k a year though. I do about that and use my car only at weekends and am not too worried. I think it’s when there’s a suspicion it’s been sat around for months on end drying up. Have a look at the service intervals for that car and see what they replace around that mileage/year and under, and that the work has been done.

You'll be fine. That mileage it's still driven enough. Might just need brakes, new fluids and tyres.

I bought a 2011 Audi with 53000 kilometers last year, so similar miles and age. It's fine. Apart from looming catastrophic engine failure there's no problems.

(Vw/Audi's shit piston design in tfsi engines... Oil consumption etc. You didn't buy one of those?)

Also chucking out a ton of white smoke when it starts but that stops after 5-10 seconds then doesn't do it at all. Fuel filter maybe?

The fact the wobble disappears at a higher speed would suggest the wheel balancing is still out, maybe the lead weights on one of the wheels have come off?
