Right. I have a vague sort of plan.
How about Sunday 8th October?
Plan is around 45 miles starting/meeting at the top of Crystal Palace, Cafe Paradou for a pre-ride coffee/chat at 9am. It's in the little parade opposite the bus station.
Plan to roll out no later than 9.30. I'll lead you out into Kent via West Wickham, Keston, Green Street Green, and Chelsfield. We'll take country lanes to Crockenhill, Eynsford, and onto Farningham. Then turning back through Knatts Valley, Otford. At that point, depending on how people feel we can head back via Polhill and Halstead or stretch out the ride a bit longer going back in further westwards via Pilgrims Way.
There are several coffee stop options - Eynsford, Otford, Downe, Keston.
I don't Garminate but I can show you a lovely map of where we're going when we met at the cafe! Probably out for 3.5 hrs depending on stops.
I'll check the weather nearer the time. If it's due to piss with rain I won't be heading out - I've been and done the HTFU before, and don't fancy riding around in the rain for hours.
If it's going to difficult to call PM me your mobile and I can get in touch if necessary.
We will go past a farm or two so it's possible that sections could be a bit muddy/gravelly. Generally the road surfaces are good though. There'll be some climbing, most of it gradual, or a bit draggy. Couple of lovely descents, one very fast (if you like that sort of thing!). Anyway - if you don't know the area I'll be flagging up any bits you might need to be especially aware of. :)

Weather due be dry though it could be a little fresh to start with.
I'll definitely be leading the ride out as planned :)

Wish I could join but I have a weird health thing and my doctor has advised me to avoid all exercise. Super lame. Bikes in the loft, I no longer fit into any of my clothes, public transport takes forever. Meh. Enjoy Kent, the farm shop in Downe has particularly good cake :)

Ah bummer @tricitybendix Sorry to hear that.
@cafewanda Ok. I'm happy to improvise the route a bit depending on how the legs are in the morning.
The plan isn't to make people miserable! :)
