Isn't it £69 retail? 15% is £58.65. Is postage free?

Not trying to be a pedantic arse, just not sure if I'm missing some further saving.

anyone selling a dynamo wheel? rim brake.
-
• #955
I just bought a pair quite inexpensively from RoseBikes. Spa Cycles have some good deals for individual wheels as well.
Is this for a beater build?
-
• #956
yeah, as cheap as, ideally.
edit: the spacycles cheapest looks about £125, which is about as much as i've spent on the rest of the whole bike!

£76 for a complete wheelset and free lights
I bought the dynamo wheel for my shopper from them. Can recommend.

Nice - how are the lights - worth using?
-
• #959
No idea. I just bought a cheap 20" shopper wheel from them. Industrial levels of build quality but you get what you pay for really. I bought mine for a shopper. Do keep that in mind. :)
Those lights look like B&M knock offs to my very untrained eye. Again. No idea of the quality.

Any other options than Sp and Schmidt?

AFAIK the only other options are just rebranded SPs.

I have a setup like this on my wife's commuter. Lights aren't the same but same price point. LEDs etc...
They're surprisingly good considering. Much better than any of the battery lights she was using. Plus no dying batteries. Both lights have stand-light function.
Wheel is good too considering cheapest dyno hub. Not much actual resistance when riding. Plus its just like an extra workout or some shiz.
For the money its ace. Fine for a pub bike.
Edit: Although that rear hub looks shocking. We got the front wheel only option: This is actually exactly what we got. Postage is a bit steep mind.

Anyone got any dynamo lights going unused? Alternatively, anyone need anything Bike24?
Apologies for the cross post, I'm sure most people in here are in the dynamo lights thread too.

From what I've read the USB Werk is regarded by some as unreliable
-
• #971
What's considered most reliable?
-

Igaro got used by quite a few TCR rides. They've updated it recently as well to include addons such as a small buffer battery (actually a super-capacitor) and a power switch so you can isolate it entirely.

I've got a USB Werk, its been used for a year with no issues whatsoever. I can generally finish long rides with both my phone and Garmin fully charged. I bought it over a Igaro as you can put it inside a frame bag and it wont overheat, whereas Igaro recommend not to do this.
I know @ad441 had some issues when using one with a Son front light where it would draw power from the light beam whether it was being used to charge or not and he would have to disconnect it.
I've never had that issue using B&M Luxos front and rear lights with mine.

Was actually a supernova front light, but yes, it caused it to flicker unless i unscrewed the cable connector thing, which was a bit annoying. Whereas d1 detects if something is plugged in to the usb and doesn't draw power otherwise.
However i have mixed feelings about whethwe d1 is that much of an improvement. The Werk is a neater unit once you consider all the extra bits coming off the new version of the Igaro and my D1 is about to go back to have the USB plug changed as the charging has become unreliable (it did this on LEL which was a pain). The screw in plug on the Werk is possibly better in that respect. I believe Igaro charges more efficiently compared to other chargers according to the website, but that's hard to judge.
Basically they're both pretty good.
Just ordered an Alpkit Dynamo from their site, 15% off at the moment with code AUGUST17. Pretty hard to beat for £55 shipped to Switzerland. Hope to get it built onto a tubeless ~20mm internal rim, maybe a DT Swiss 533 or similar.
