  • Also,

    dibs.

  • WOW!! sooo good sooo pink !

  • I think you made the right decision not drilling just for the junction box and any adapters like the one for the downtube (not only does that look ugly as sin but) it would just make it less forward compatible should you decide to upgrade the group in the future.

the bike looks good, but do please change the seatpost clamp to a black one!

  • the bike looks good, but do please desticker the wheels

    ftfy

  • Way too DEEEEEEEP and covered in logos

I've heard, that if you have big logos on your rims you go faster.

  • What tyres @Velocio

  • Who told you that? A big wheel logo seller?

  • I can't recall what tyres.

Schwalbe G-One perhaps? It was a long time ago that I specified it, and many pages back.

I guess I'll find out. Tyres will always be replaced in time so I'll see how I fare with whatever is on the bike.

  • I saw it, on TV. Maybe I imagined it, but those guys in the TdF have big logos and they go fast.

  • Fantastic. Rack mounts on the back?

  • Yes.

    I like racks.

I like saddle bags too, but they can be annoying at times too.

Mostly I think heavy side panniers were the problem and not racks themselves, I think the best bike bag would be something that sits on the rack and be tethered to the seat cluster, rather than panniers at the side of the rack or a saddle bag fully on the seat post and saddle.

I know of no such bag today, might commission one.

This comment has the risk of starting a big argument about bags. Let alone about racks.

  • Whats the yellow sticker on the front rim?

  • Can also take a full mudguard at the rear, and the forks come with a detachable mudguard.

Both support the same clearance and can run quite large tyres with mudguards.

Have not thought about what that rear mudguard is.

  • Whats the yellow sticker on the front rim?

    An annoyance.

  • Sounds like you're after a rack-top bag, but they mostly fasten to the rack alone. What exactly do you mean by tether to the seat cluster? What are you aiming to achieve by that?

  • Carradice do a decent rack top bag, it would look terrible on that though

  • It looks lovely, like others I think the wheels would look much better without the white decals though, but you've spent the money now I guess :)
very relieved they are addressing the junction box disaster.

  • Mind if I ask what the final cost was? You put up a lot of figures earlier in the thread, feel the need to know how much I can't afford it.

  • I've no idea what the final cost is.

I know what my budget was and I have a spreadsheet documenting the detail. But I'll have to figure out all out next week after I've received the bike and paid the last bit.

Some bits should be cheaper than budgeted. For example the lack of power meter will bring the cranks back down to reasonable.

The frame, fork, wheels, stem and seat post I've already paid for. The rest is yet to be paid and currently unknown final cost.

  • As a ball park, the figure should have been targeting £9-10k. I thought that was a struggle, so received some generous help acquiring the Enve bits that made that slightly more affordable (hopefully without me being a hassle to that kind gent). I might be within budget... Might.

  • Lovely. Great work. I agree with Dov regarding the wheels.. they sure do look fast, though..

  • Whats the yellow sticker on the front rim?

Warranty registration details, says on the sticker to remove it after registering the wheel.

  • When will you slam the stem? Compact? New Dura Ace would have allowed semi. Have they already dialled the saddle in the right position? The handlebars look to wide for you?

  • Saddle height yes, angle no. The bars are the correct width, angle also fractionally off.

I wanted the compact, nothing on there was specified by accident.
