  • tbh, from that pic it looks like James is trying to get off his bike, not kick her.

  • @dancing james I hope you're OK, whole thing sounds brutal.

  • If she's got a dash cam then presumably to have captured James at that angle she was driving directly at him? Looks like he's toppling over backward.

  • I've got a gopro session mounted under my wahoo on an outfront mount. It works ok, but I feel a helmet camera would actually point at the stuff you're looking at rather than at where you're heading.

Only problems with helmet mounting is how it looks and what happens to the camera/mount if you crash. I seem to recall that's what did for Michael Schumacher?

  • Probably she got her phone out in readiness for being aggy at the lights.

  • As his glasses are already off I was assuming she snapped him at the end of the incident?

  • ...considered cycle training...

  • I had thought this may be a slightly better route than the helmet @TurtleRecall I remember reading that as well, put me off any sort of helmet mount. I've got the handlebar mount so that'll do for the moment.

  • Has this been resolved yet?

  • considered cycle training

Skully beat you to this and with considerably more élan.

  • Does anyone know where I can buy an arrospoke?

  • I've been told that asm has some.

  • Good prices too.....

  • £60. Thanks Brexit.

  • moto: "Is that carbon?"
    hippy: "yeah"
    moto: "it's fast!"
hippy: "it ain't the bike that's fast"

Winning. The only reason was because I had to crush the hopes and dreams of someone on an electric bike. "Oh you paid all that money for a 'leccy motorbike and still get beaten by a fat drunk?"

    #cat6forLYF!

  • No fun

  • Just my luck... when I complain to someone about parking near a junction with "nice parking, you are blocking the junction...no bad language used" at short and busy 2 lane junction with double yellows in Belfast causing tailbacks they have a blue badge so legally they can if it's not within 15 meters... 🙄

He shouted that he "doesn't give a fuck what I think" which is clear as he's parked for maximum inconvenience*

I couldn't see the badge from behind. I shouted "ok you've a blue badge it's ok". More shouting followed. I said "you've a blue badge it's ok"

In hindsight it's a no win as he's also not allowed to half park on the kerb and half on the road so that people can get past. Ah well... Maybe I should nag the doe (it only takes 20 emails usually) to send wardens there's as this happens every day.

*It's legal though on double yellows with a badge if 15 meters away of a junction, so technically he's in the right. It's not clear if blocking only one lane us "holding up traffic" guess not... because anybody parking there causes tailbacks no room to swing a car and its full of buses...

No punching followed...I still judge h

  • Proper lols at the taxi driver I encountered on Southwark Bridge Road today.

Southbound just after the bridge I took primary at that bit where the road narrows. He squeezes past anyway (not the worst close pass I've ever had, but close enough to make me yell out - evidently my primary wasn't assertive enough...).

Of course he gets caught at the red at the bottom of the hill, and his window's open, so I figure I'm probably due a barney with a taxi driver. Pointed out it hadn't actually gained him any time.

Cue the usual stuff about "[us] lot" blocking his way and that I should move over to the side of the road. I fought the standard losing battle - and tried to explain that a) I am not an "us lot" I am a "me" and b) I get to chose when it's safe to let him pass because he's safe in his nice big metal cab and I'm exposed and squishy and somebody's son. The give and take's not symmetrical, mate.

That was all well and good, and he very kindly let me out to pass the bus in the stop on the other side of the junction , but really let himself down when we got to the lights just past the garage and he rolled the front 3/4 of his vehicle into the ASL looooong after the red light (no hands on the wheel - testiculating wildly)...so that he could complain to me and the group of riders patiently waiting there about the bane of RLJers...

"Um... you mean the offence you just committed by crossing the white line after the light changed?"

    Lols.

  • As said before, looking at those comments, might want to try a different route to work and new helmet perhaps? So much anger!

  • no hands on the wheel - testiculating wildly

Wow, perhaps the plod will pay more attention to this offence?

  • Hah, yes.

You're familiar with the expression though? Gesticulating while talking utter...

  • Two days, two electric bikes dismembered. Good for speedwork these things.

  • The bloke on the delimited hybrid with butterfly bars who rides along the A402?

I've had him a couple of times on the way to Wests. The problem is that he jumps red lights and on Thursday even walked his bike across the Holland Park Avenue/Holland Park junction during the AGPP.
