Not 100% assured plus don't get owt back for time wasted etc though.
Quite happy with my buying preferences and decision making around the buying process, thanks for sharing your opinion though.
Any other recommendations on alternatives to fc5603 much appreciated still.

My Park Tool FR-5 doesn't work with my Shimano rotor / Hope RS4 rear* hub combo. What tool will?
*Front was fine.

Did a rather soggy Ride London, washed my bike and hung it up. Went to grab it today and one BB bearing is COMPLETELY seized. Won't move at all.
Have ordered replacements. Bit of a pain after 1,200 miles though. How long are you guys getting from BB30 bearings?
This is a Praxis BB30 to 24mm adapter...

Does anyone have a Moon gem USB rechargeable light they aren't using?
Can be working or not as I'd just like to replace the strap on mine as it's knackered! Plastic thing has broken in half and the rubber bit is getting shorter and shorter...

Token BBs weatherproofness is excellent.

The wheelbuilder suggested Pedro's as a thinner-walled alternative. I'll go pester some workshops tomorrow.

See how you get on, I found the stretch too much and kept getting pinch flats and also that the patches wouldn't hold due to the tube stretching so much - I am a heffr tho and it was loaded touring.

I'm involved in organising a party in November and we've got the choice of two venues. The almost perfect venue doesn't have a lift and our guest of honour is in a wheelchair. How easy is it to find 4 fit people who can carry the lady in her wheelchair up the stairs, hang around for two hours and then carry the lady in the wheelchair down the stairs again?
-

Usually pretty easy, but does the lady mind being carried by strangers? One of my university classmates used a chair and our old building had lifts that kept breaking down. He would not let us carry him and his chair for the first couple of months.

It's quite a big question of trust, I would imagine.

If there's nothing wrong with the other venue, I'd go with that, unless the wheelchair user can be involved at this stage and give a preference. It's a bit weird being carried. But perhaps some people don't mind, and perhaps the almost perfect venue is lovely in other ways. Also are you sure no one else on the guest list has access needs?
-
• #85493
If the guest of honour is in a wheelchair and the venue doesn't have wheelchair access I'd say that's probably not the right venue.

Do you know enough people going well enough to determine if they would be ok to help? If so, can you ask them separately if they would do it?
-
• #85497
The other people going are unlikely to be able to help.

• #85498
Then that might be your answer

If she made the suggestion then that's quite different. I agree with stevo_com better to check that there will be people willing and able to carry, and pre arrange (awkward asking people on the day depending on how well you know them and whether they feel able to say no for whatever reason). But please do consider the rest of the guests, if anyone else has issues with stairs. Are there loos on the same floor as the party?
Edit: just saw your reply. Hurm, I wouldn't rely on random other punters helping on the night. But you could ask the venue if their staff would do it. Or ask your guests to invite able+willing plus ones...

That's what I'm thinking.
I've also now suggested that we ask if the first venue would consider sponsoring our use of the second, which would make so much more sense!
Hahahaha!
