Discovered a semi-local shop does Colour Plus for £2.79 for the 36 exposure, looking at your photos and some on flickr it looks like a good cheap standard. Will stock up.

So is Vista dead? I haven't bought film in probably two years, last visits to poundland were bust so thought maybe it's all gone.

I have an Olympus XA with flash that I just bought on ere, haven't tested it yet. the light seals are on their way out but may still be ok. Powers up and shutter fires fine.
£25 if anyone would like to collect from central or east London.

I've purchased an old Olympus trip to have some fun with. Have gone through 3 colour films that were branded as lomogrophy film (picked up at a store closing for £1) without spectacular results and one filme of B7W with some nice photos and a lot of blurry crap ones. Can anyone give me/ point me the direction of some tips for getting better photos from it?

How do the negs look? It's possible for the selenium cells to die, depending on how it's been stored i think.
In terms of blurriness - shutter speed is either 1/40 or 1/200, 1/40 will blur with movement/shake but it's just about ok if you're expecting it. Or use fast film and good light to always get 1/200. If it's out of focus more light also helps, the aperture will automatically stop down to give more focal range. If you're not used to guessing distance err on the near side.
Lots of photos online showing low light stuff at 1/40, but I've never had much luck with it. I prefer using it in good light. Check for light leaks too if you're getting ghosts.

@pdlouche It appears so. Poundland have officially stopped stocking it. Some shops had left over stock, but it appears ebay scalpers have snapped those up
@Kompute The Trip is more or less a point and shoot. Set the ASA of the film. Set it on Auto (the aperture settings are for flash, or for setting on f2.8 to override the red finger in low light). Set the focus (the red group setting is almost a default). Snap away.
Probably worth checking to see if it functions correctly to rule that out. Check the light seals in the film bay to see if they need replacing. Check the light meter works by covering up the cell and you should get the red finger on the A setting. Check the aperture blades open and close correctly
Other than that, try it with in date Kodak or Fuji film to rule out the film being the problem. Try a different lab for developing also. My first batch of photos through my Trip where via Jessops 1 hour service, and they were awful.

@Rik_Van_Looy Reminds me of 80's holiday photos, also, I miss Brighton.
Does anyone shoot B&W film with coloured filters still ? Or do they just run a filter digitally in Lightroom etc if needed ?
Shooting B&W for the first time in an age (Tri-X) and was thinking about trying a filter (yellow, orange or red) to heighten contrast -

Going to Italy on holiday in a few weeks for 2 weeks, trying to figure out how much film to take?!
15 rolls of Portra 400 enough you think?

I use an orange filter, means if I want to print in the darkroom then I get that dark sky

Of course, I forget about darkroom printing. There's a community darkroom down the road from me in Brum that I really need to investigate.
Still loving the Olympus Trip. Tempted to start collecting the classic Olympus cameras (Pen EE, F; OM1, XA etc)

Considering the sun this past week here in Abruzzo, you could shoot Pan F+ at f/22...

Are there any labs or boots still doing photo processing around north London?
Fixed the meter on my new camera and want to get a test roll developed before I'm away with it but I've not got much time this week

Not sure how fast they'll turn it around, call and ask.

I've been having a film renaissance over the last 6 months, shit me it's an expensive hobby. Back in the day I somehow held down a part time job at Jessops (before they went out of business... the first time!) where I got free film and prints and processing. I have a huge box of negs and prints in the loft that needs archiving properly.
Anyway - great to see the love for the Olympus Trip here, I own one - it was my first 'real' camera (I had a very shitty Kodak Ektralite 110 camera which I don't think counts, though probably has some credible hipster value today...) I've since liberated my Dad's Nikkormat FT2 - the camera I used for photography A-Level and have started messing about with that again.
I'm planning to get a couple of rolls shot on that processed this week, usually I've used Metro - but as I'm working near Marble Arch at the moment does anyone have any recommendations for processing places this side of Tottenham Court Rd? I went into West End Cameras earlier, but they aren't equipped to process E6.
Finally - thought I'd share some of my recent shots from my Olympus Trip - these were from my trip to NZ earlier this year - love that camera!

Tried sending to filmdev ? Sadly they don't help you for E6, but £5 for C41 develop and a medium sized scan works out reasonably well. Use a cheap film like Kodak Colour Plus and you can get costs down to £9 for film+develop+scan (inc P&P). Probably the cheapest you do it outside of processing yourself ?

+1.
It will be expensive if you use Metro for processing. I've used these guys a couple of times now for E6 (mail order), and have been happy.

Do Filmdev do 120, if so how much? can't find any info on their site atm
@Well_is_it Thanks, I'm delighted with the colours, don't think I'll be missing vista too much...
@miro_o Cheers, 70's browns like you said... The grain's an unexpected bonus, accentuated by the half-frame camera
