That's a ways out...
Will have a think. -

Happy to do anything around Dalston, too, e.g. the Railway Tavern. I just suggested it because it's a forum pub. It's easy to get to from Dalston, plenty of buses (or even the Overground). I can meet you in Dalston and we can walk there, too, it doesn't take long.

I may have found the wrong Chesham. Where is this one?
-
• #85380
You have found Chesham the place, Oliver means the Chesham Arms. I assume.
-
• #85381
Yes, the Chesham Arms, as previously recommended:

Sorry, it didn't even occur to me that you might find Chesham. :)

That's a much easier target!
What would be a good time to meet? -
• #85383
It's your schedule. Any time in the evening would be fine.
-
• #85384
Let's say 9 then.
-
• #85385
Great, see you at 9 at the Chesham. I'll wait outside, and I'll be on my blue and white Fuji Track. #bikesarethenewcarnations

Cheers Oliver, I'll be the suspicious looking Canadian (grey beard with a beret).
-
• #85387
Hmm that's close but I think it's much smaller - this thing was like a large ant with wings.
-
• #85388
I didn't look properly earlier, so didn't spot that it wasn't a wasp. It's not a wasp, I think--the legs and antennae look more beetle-like, but of course the whole body doesn't. Perhaps it's an insect that as an evolutionary adaptation has come to mimic the look of these wasps. I have no idea what it is, though. (It's definitely not an ant.)

Cool thanks! It's in Thailand (as am I at the moment, hence limited Google skills) if that makes any difference!
-
• #85390
Erm, yeah ... it's only a whole different world of insects. :) Just look at this one:
There are quite a few on this page that look a bit like it, but no exact match:

I removed one of the chainrings on my mtb cranks - the bolts held both cranks together, so I assume I need a smaller diameter set - are chainring bolts universally sized?
-
• #85393
There are chainring bolts specifically for using a single chainring if that's what you mean
-
• #85394
Yeah, so I need to swap to single chainring bolts, I was just wondering if there were different sizes - say track vs road vs mtb, or if these are all standardised

Is this seatpost clamp installed correctly? It was further down the tube before i moved it like this, which is where it wants to sit naturally with its bevel. Also the carbon post had a bit of grinding on it - probably from being over-tightened as a result of the wrongly placed clamp.

Never thought of attaching a washing machine to use as a side-car.
I can see it will help keep you upright through corners,
'Don't lean',
but can't help but think it would hinder get-aways from traffic lights. -
• #85397
Ah I see, no they should all be pretty much the same. There aren't single ring or double ring standards, some are slightly deeper than others.
-
• #85398
Looks fine how you have it now. Keep an eye on that seatpost

I thought there was a thread with recommendations for OTP wheels somewhere. Can anyone direct me to it, if it exists?
Otherwise, what is the recommended budget OTP tubeless wide rim wheelset?

Thanks, working on it: 34 hours minus about 2 with naps so far.
Chesham, will google.
