Dunno, my bike's done FuckinThousands™ of km and works. I'd only bleed if I noticed an issue.

That's what I was thinking, I was going to get a service before LEL but to be honest its fine, reckon I will just wack some new pads on.

I suppose this kind of events suit people who are fine with last minute changes and improvising, but for me along with that comes the habit of doing preparations at the last minute. Or last weeks. My route is not ready yet and haven't really planned what to pack yet. Though the latter will be mostly as usual on long rides and I have got some new gear to improve from last year and I have been contemplating gear choices for the whole year, as usual. I'm flying to Brussels already on Saturday. I did service the bike during the weekend. Need to buy batteries. Riding the same Surly as the last 8 years. Just got the second jab for hepatitis a.

I checked mine after TABR and there was loads of meat left. I've ordered some of those Uber pads. I'll probably start with the TABR pads and if they go I'll fit the Ubers. Brain says I should fit new pads now but I'm feeling very lazy when it comes to bike work.

My wife's bike has done about 200k in 3 years.
Have you thought of making sure that it's an appropriate bike?
-

There's probably a bit of life left in the ones on my bike, certainly in the rear, but I picked up a load of On-One pads in the sale earlier this year and bought tonnes of them so I don't mind throwing a set on as I paid peanuts for them, and it saves me faffing about changing them on the ride.

Do we have a definitive list of who off the forum is riding this year?

Nail clippers? Bit fancy that...

Interesting choice of attire. I didn't realise we could charm our way across Europe.

I was glad I packed my Leatherman w/ scissors for TABR. My nails got very long and they split and started catching on stuff all the time so it's not as luxurious as it sounds to have something that will trim nails.
-
• #622
If you've not had your nails surgically removed in prep, you're not trying hard enough.
-
• #623
I always take a pair of nail scissors. More versatile than clippers as can also be used for cutting other things...
-
• #624
If you have surgery to remove nails you're weak. I kicked mine off.
Anyway, I was talking about finger nails.
Wait "Swimmers shave their bodies sleek. Cyclists take blood-boosters."
Um, really? Swimmers shaved (no drugs here, Chop) and cyclists take blood boosters? What kind of bullshit is this? -

Can you cut your dominant hand's nails with your non-dominant hand?
Mad skillz if you can.
How often should one bleed their brakes? If you had done over 10000k and they still work fine, is it worth bothering? Asking for a friend.....
