Half the water. The powder. The other half of the water. Shake for a bit.
Never fails. Never lumpy. No wire ball needed.
Some of us just have it I guess.

Half the water then powder then mixing ball.
Turn upside down slowly, then shake add more water and shake again. What bottle do people use for it if they are taking it somewhere? I don't trust the shaker to not open in my bag. I use a camelbak chute which works ok, mix in this with a mixer ball

Anyone played about with the macros?
I figured if you add about 23 g of peanut butter and have only 2 scoops, you get the just about the same calories but these differences:Just Huel:
402 kcal, 38 g carbs, 13 g fat, 30 g proteinHuel + Peanut butter:
405 kcal, 28 g carbs, 20 g fat, 26 g protein -

not being very au fait with macros, what benefit would that be? Less protein but more fat?
Does it taste better?
-
• #331
The significant bit for me would be 10 g less carbohydrates, and more fatty calories (so likely feeling full for longer and slower energy release). The 4 g protein hit is annoying but fairly small.
Apparently the oats used for huel have a low glycemic index, which means they shouldn't give you a sugar rush and then low, so maybe the whole thing is pointless.
I haven't tried it! Just thinking out loud really. I might try it soon, though I've only got vanilla huel in and I dunno how that would go with peanut butter. -

So I think I've worked out my baseline flavoring option; 1tsp of boulion stock powder and 2/3 teaspoon of miso paste. Gives a nice savory taste without being too overpowering

Ooh, intriguing. I might try this.

Is it legit to imagine using huel to replace two meals a day, lose weight and still be strong etc. enough to be able to ride to work in the mornings and do decent mileage outside of that. Approx 300km a week?
Looking to shed some fat and replace brek and lunch.

Is that added to the unflavoured one?
I`m in two minds about it. I kind of think its pointless making it taste good. For me, its all about not having to worry about lunch and so i basically neck it while doing other things at lunch.
SO who really cares? its never going to be as good as a sandwhich or whatever, just way way easier (and better for me) -
• #336
yes. Just have to work out how many scoops works for you to do that
-
• #337
Guess all the relevant calorific information is easily accessed.

Good for me trying to do the same (with much, much less km) as good amounts of protein and it's easy.
One portion is 400 kcal so easy to work out and stick to deficit and you can spread them through the day so you're fuelled when you need to be. -
• #339
Yeah, unflavoured. I find its thick enough that I couldn't really imagine necking it
-
• #340
hah. I guess i just mean drinking it relatively quickly rather than actual chugging!

Im on day 2 - had an 11oclock 'brunch' shake yesterday of one portion, got me through till dinner but i was WFH
today ive done the same but ended up having it at 10am after cycling into work and being starving. will see if i have the energy to cycle home or whether i need to break it up

• #342

Do you have brek before you cycle to work?
-
• #346
no - never hungry early in the morning and have never had problems 'dry' cycling to work.

I was at first and it worked well. Awesome for actual nutrition in the morning (rather than just 2 eggs like I used to do) and cheap nutritious lunch.
Now I'm squeezing all my eating into 8 hours (trying intermittent fasting, forever pissing about with eating) so have 2 lunches and then a decent meal in the eve.

...and when you have just smashed a pint and a half of sludge, some prick walks in the office with some sensationally-smelling grub.
Shake with wire ball. Tolerate lumps.
