this is someone who has entered both the F11/10 event and E2/25 and is on a 0 for both, so not that subtle....
can understand someone who has presumably not got a ride on one or other getting a bit pissed off at this behaviour. then again I know that all the reserves had a ride for the f11/10 by Monday...

pretty much!
generally if people haven't signed on an hour before their start time they are declared a DNS and places given away so go to the race HQ and make yourself known, and wait, you're almost guaranteed a ride, just a stressful way of doing things!

Apparently there are three people being 'investigated' for entering two events so we are getting closer.

Do organisers have to put special conditions on the internet entry if here are any, just been rejected from the blazing saddles 50, presumed perhaps wrongly that my lts is fast enough to get into most events, perhaps not though :(

Same start time I see. Who are the two others?
Incredibly frustrating. Said it a million times on here before, but I'm in nowhere land with a time too slow for standard opens and too quick for middle marker events. For some reason I missed all the crazy fast E2 events of a couple of years ago. I actually used to get into the API event and have ridden it three times, even with a LTS of a long 57. It's now a mid 56. Anyone know what it closed on this year?
Tried to get into the VTTA Nats but I'm too slow for that too! Only chance for the E2 this year is the VTTA event at the end of July. Problem is, I don't like to burden organisers by requesting a later start time, and you can guarantee I'll be an early starter with a hour and a half travel time needed to get there.

I would have said less than an hour to be honest. As the HQ isn't far from the start you could realistically get caught in traffic, arrive with 20 minutes to go and still make your start time.
I would wait at the HQ for confirmation of a ride. Much nicer than having to stand half way down a slip road for 2 1/2 hours.

depends on the organiser though, I've done events this year where the hour is stipulated on the start sheet as a requirement to sign on an hour before your start time which in most cases isn't unreasonable...
Heard back from the organiser of the blazing saddles 50 that there were some places reserved fro the sussex vtta champs so I missed the cut with a 1:52:29, so much for getting to ride a fast 50 this year!

I'm about 2 miles off the E2 at the minute. Breezy but feels like fast conditions to me. Good luck to those riding.

I got a ride! 16:02. MyWindsock and MyBrother (@cjr) both think it's gonna be a slog with the wind though.

• #15962
This years API cut off was 55:00
-
• #15963
First reserve was a 55.16 (set in the MM event earlier this year).

Yay! Good luck.

What tt should I enter on the 22/23 July?
Within 100miles of Amersham.Is the h50/8a good?

I rode that event last year (Reading CC?). It's laps of the 25 course. Means a) avoiding the ruts down the far end, but b) having to navigate the Coxheath roundabout three times. There were about 70 entrants last year, but I never felt the road was busy with riders at any point. @umop3pisdn and @mdcc_tester also rode.

@skinny I'm doing the reading cc event that day, @umop3pisdn reckons its a couple of minutes slower than the P885/50 course, but i didn't make the cut for the latter, hopefully i will with the reading one!
20:06 for me on the F11/10 today, went better than i hoped, whihc is always a nice, and also beginning to feel confident on the TT bike for the first time since my crash last year, hopefully this bodes well for future races!

Did a 57:03, which I think I should be pretty happy with as a relative time taking the wind into account. It's a minute slower than my LTS though so I can't really be that pleased.
Bad day for fixed. Churning on the way out and topping out at 115rpm on the way back in.

I did the CC London F10/10 tonight. I originally picked the event on the recommendation that it would be a fast course for fixed, but they changed it due to roadworks.
It was pretty bumpy, with a fierce headwind on the way back, but I did 23:46 which was enough for 5th overall with a small field, 30 seconds off 3rd place and a tenner. The winner was riding his first TT and did a short 21, which was ridiculous given the course and conditions.
One day I will finally do a fast 10 course that's actually well suited to fixed. I keep getting told I've done well, 'considering'. I want a go with no excuses!

• #15970
On that note, are there any fast, flat 10s on the 8th or 9th?

I keep getting told I've done well, 'considering'
People who don't ride fixed will say that however flat the course is.
-
• #15972
No such thing

I rode the similar F2D/10 last Sat, switched from the F20/10. It was much more up and down than I remember, would have been horrible with that wind.

I need to get a new saddle, I tried one of the PX stubby TT saddles but it was too wide at the nose which was uncomfortable. I settled on a normal road saddle, which is fine for 10s and 25s, but it became pretty uncomfortable on a recent 50, and I have a 100 coming up and I need a solution.
I like the look of the Fabric Tri saddle, but worried it may also be too wide at the nose.
I know it's subjective, but any thoughts/advice would be appreciated.
You'll need at least two pairs of hands to count the DNS's at this weekends event on the E2....
