^Saga is the best.
I've been reading Black Hammer, the story of a group of Golden Age heroes that are trapped on a Farm in an alternative dimension (? - they're not sure yet but they can't leave)

Transformers: Regeneration one.
Ok it's still a transformer comic, not everyone's cuppa but a cracking read.

We seem to be running along eerily similar reading lines. I was recommended Red Team by Garth Ennis which didn't disappoint.

Not read that yet, I loved The Boys and his The punisher 3shot with the end.
Wee man is currently enthralled with Transformers, so I got him a copy of this :) Though I in fairness also played with transformers, I guess some things never get old :)

A.D. After Death by Jeff Lemire and Scott Snyder was incredibly good.

I read this too, loved it.
These two are my favourite comic writers at the moment.

Ode to kirihito: "are you a beast?" A humanist tale about trying to stay humane in the face of injustice.
With a virus that turns people's faces into a dog face so yeah sounds well weird, but don't let that put you off its excellent.
Pretty sad in places, so if you cry easily...just go for it embrace the sensitive side and all that :)

Is anyone here interested in manga? I was very into it in about a decade ago and have quite a collection (mostly not complete series, but decent numbers of volumes in a row) but it's time to make space as I haven't read them for years.
Mostly in the action/adventure and horror/supernatural vein. I can list them if anyone is interested.

DC Metal is proving to be expensive.
I got suckered in with Greg Capullo and Scott Snyder being involved.
I started with the 2 prequels, now there are half a dozen 1 shots establishing alternate universe Batmans, plus crossover into the established universe.
I think Metal is a 6 issue series, but comes in 20 comics. -

I'm NOT a pervert. Let's get that settled immediately but...

Reading Franquin's "idees noir/black ideas" it's bleakly funny and very nihilist. Atomic bombs, no money for hospitals cos it's spent on the military, a prison planet... plus ca change.
It seems there's no English translation still, my French is sorta good enough to get the gist but need to get Google translate out for the finesse.

Any recommendations for some decent graphic novels? I read From Hell and really liked it.

Alan Moore is a bloody good writer, more of his can only be a good thing.
V for Vendetta, Watchmen, Swamp Thing, all good (all are superior to the Hollywood films)I like Batman at the moment, classic stories like The Long Halloween or Dark Knight returns are good to read (not much knowledge is required)

Combine them both and read The Killing Joke, it's fairly short, but it is perfect.

Snowpiercer is excellent, I enjoy some euro ones too like Thorgal, Aldebaran.
Oh and the metabaron. Mad as a bag of hammers epi scifi.
I quite like wicked and the devine too.

Depends what dark path you wish to take.
The odd stand alone graphic novel, trade paper backs of a limited run series, or the accidental full bore comic purchasing addiction that escalates over time, ending with your very own grab box and the owner of your LCS ordering in new stuff because he thinks you will like it.Also Fight Club 2 was an interesting series.

I just finished Black Hole by Charles Burns, been one I've meant to read for a long time, slightly bizarre but really good.
I really like Ed Brubaker's stuff (especially his work with Sean Phillips). Recommend The Fade Out (Hollywood noir set during the blacklisting/McCarthy period), Fatale (sort of horror/noir mash up) and Criminal (pulp/crime/thrillers). Current ongoing series is Kill or Be Killed, which I wasn't sure about at first but is great, after all.
Fade Out and KOBK feature gorgeous colours by Elizabeth Breitweiser.
Shade The Changing Girl was a recent recommendation by the great folks at GOSH! comics and it is simply delightful.

Oh, and Black Science (Rick Remender/Matteo Scelara) is fucking mad, too.

After finishing Locke & Key (great) I've been reading Clean Room.

It's bonkers.

Ode to Kirohito from the man that drew Astroboy is very good as well.
It's about a disease that deforms people, intrigue in a medical school, "inhuman" behaviour and what it means to be human.
Recommended.

I thought Wytches by Scott Snyder was brilliant. YMMV.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wytches-Vol-1-Scott-Snyder-ebook/dp/B015XAZ9PW/
Started reading Saga: Quite like it, fantasy comic with a message/heart about a family fleeing a long standing conflict.
The setup very vaguely reminds me of Galaxy Express, which is also worth a read.
