• Yeah not sure what his religion or ethnicity has to do with anything. Cunts are cunts.

  • So my mate up north came across this tweet yesterday and replied:

I then chimed in and copied in the Greater Manchester Police. Think it's worth carrying on the twitter battle or just realise she is an ass and leave it be? The replies from her and her pals have also been comical.

  • burn her, tweet that shit to Vine or Broadman, they love to get the pitchforks out, she'll be sacked by the end of the day.

  • Seems like a stream of brain farts.

  • @mansons_7am: TheCyclingScot @gmpolice any thoughts on this thread @Chris_Boardman .... @theJeremyVine ? Seems like something to cut out?

    If anyone fancies chipping in:

  • Double post :s

  • no one should get involved in a thread with such piss poor hash-tagging.

    2/7

  • Thanks Ben, no, sadly in the heat of the moment I didn't think to make a note of his number plate etc, hopefully there won't be a next time, but will try and rember.

  • Yeah you're right, as pointed out by another member his ethnicity didn't have anything to do with the guy's behaviour, he just drove like a dick, but the point I was trying to make is at a time like now, when tensions are particularly high, don't you think we should all be making more effort to get along instead of looking for a confrontation straight away? The guy knew he was in the wrong, if he had just tailed a hand to acknowledge that most people would when you make a mistake like that nothing would have come of it, that's what I'm saying.

  • Would you be saying the same if he didn't look like a "young Muslim guy"?

    If not, fuck off

  • You mentioned he was clearly muslim and given the state of the world...

There was no need to mention what religion you suppose he follows.

Your point was he was a muslim and muslims need to be working towards greater harmony.

  • Aggro young guys (other ages/genders available) don't think "oh the world is in such a state right now, can't we all just get along, peace out" though do they. It's not realistic. People don't like being called out, they don't like being in the wrong, they get defensive.

  • Pretty sure Kev only said young Muslim guy to give you a picture of the event. Same as if he said a fat bald dude. I'm guessing he should just have said Asian rather than Muslim since they aren't exclusive. Nobody has said anything derogatory about Muslims. Climb down off your internet high horses.

  • Yeah I would, no matter what race, gender, sexuality, whatever the person was, after we've all witnessed such tragic attrocities as individuals we shouldn't we all be making extra effort to get along. If suffering like that on your door step doesn't make you reevaluate what's really worth getting into an argument about, then what will.

  • The difference is people rarely if ever mention if someone was white, but somehow feel anyone who isn't white should have their colour/religion/ethnicity pointed out.

"fat bald white dude" is rarely pointed out. This is the institutional racism and supposition that white is normal and does not need to be mentioned.

  • so why did you mention their supposed religion?

  • Maybe you have forgotten because you live in a multicultural city, the UK is still predominantly white. Its not racist to point out somone's skin colour.
If I nearly ran somebody over in India for example, I'm more than sure they'd describe me to their friends as a white guy. That's okay with me. Black people aren't offended that people notice that they're black etc. Still Muslim ≠ Asian

  • As Hoefla wrote people just hate being called out, and in this case that's exactly what happened, he was young and clearly just got fired up. It was the way he kept shouting "you think I'm a mug" which at the time made me think he thought I'd singled him out for some reason. I myself am from an ethnic minority, so can understand the perception of an undercurrent of racism or general prejudice.

You're all right, mentioning the guy's faith wasn't relevant or necessary, I have already said that and apologise for it, but it's as you wrote James, I was trying to convey Muslims (and ALL of us) need to be working towards greater harmony. Peace.

  • If only you had worked out from his original dick move that another was likely and held back, we might not be in this other argument now.

  • Another oar stuck in, I have been flamed in the past for using descriptors. When I read "state of the world" my first thought is selfishness, hostility, and aggression toward fellow humans. Any racial insinuation comes pretty far down the list in my mind, though remember in the current climate you're gonna get reported for a hate crime for making eye contact with the wrong person even if you are both white males.

  • ^^ easy to say in hindsight

  • Yes, I had considered that, so did drift to one side making the evasive action less evasive. It wasn't even a close shave, another reason a simple hand raised from the wheel in acknowledgement / apology would have been fine. This is partly what saddens me, is some careless driving really worth jumping out of your car for and running up into someone's face...

  • ^+ what a bunch of fuckin' crackers.

    jesus
