I went to the polling station with my GF and it was QUIET. Lots of names not scored off. They'd registered my postal vote though, which is reassuring. The cunts. Funny voting by post then having to go down and actually check they've not just flung it in the bin...

You'd think after all Saville's inappropriate touching they would have learned.

Lib dems as potential king makers could make a 2nd referendum deal if there was a willing party to make it with.
-
• #2605
Surely they couldn't possibly go in with the Torys again

Worth taking Northern Ireland seats into consideration in a hung parliament. 18 seats with 8 DUP, 2 UUP, 1 independent unionist who could be expected to back the Tories. 3 SDLP who could back a Labour minority government. 4 Sinn Fein who follow an abstentionist policy so they'll go nowhere. I expect a load of nonsense talked tonight about that. There are a few potential changes to that total which could have an effect either way.
This may end up being something to take into consideration or it might not. It'll be a long night.

again. You'd think the ghost of Nick Clegg would come and warn them.

It is still early but the exit poll would have to be out by a huge margin for this not to be at least a terrible humiliation for May and the Tories. And, too, for a lot of Labour MPs.
It's like she said to Cameron "You think you got it wrong? I'll show you how to get it wrong, mate" -
• #2609
If Labour F this up and let the tories get power, due to being unable to form a confidence, I will hold it against them.
Oh, I doubt May will resign, unless pushed. What a fool.

Wonder if any notable scalps will be taken, or whether it will just be 40/50 marginals swapped around?

Looking good for unseating the cock disease that is Neil Carmichael here in Stroud.

If this is right, thoughts:
1). No one can form a government that will last and we can expect another election soon.
2). May is toast. Tories will shred themselves apart with leadership election, which will hopefully weaken them.
3). Corbyn in strong place - has momentum. Would be well placed to win a second election, if the Labour party pull together behind him. -

I think it would be their own condition, and one which their voters would support. The question would be whether anyone would offer it to them.

Funny thing is that the word was on Amber Rudd replacing May. Not if she is gone.
-
• #2615
May will surely have to go. Embarrassing.

can I just say how delighted I am that the country at large stands to show the good sense of knocking that frigid rictus Theresa May calls a smile off her fucking face?
It might not be outright victory for Labour but anything close to a hung parliament is a massive sigh of relief that she's not got free reign to rip up the human rights act, constitution, etc.
Wheat fields will be to May what that headstone was to Milliband. Endless repeats.

BBC or alternative channel 4?
Strong stable ad free dimbleby I think -
• #2618
Apparently the exit poll includes 76 seats that are "too close to call" so, while this initial news is promising, there is still a long way to go...

May will no doubt be wondering where her 'Strong & Stable' campaign went wrong.
Who will tell her? -

Here here. My confidence in the country I call my home is partially restored.

If the markets see sense that Corbyn is a safer pair of hands than the Tories the media might back the fuck off him for round two as well.

I win £100 if it's a Con + Lib coalition

Plus BBC will presumably have John Curtice who is an absolute legend

Yes, way too early to celebrate. It's OK to be optimistic, though. :)

You lose everything else.
Srsly though. Someone should tell the BBC that having a giant touch screen doesn't really make sense for broadcasting.
