  • ordering tomorrow if anyone else has a referral they want using

  • Probably the most millennial meal there is; subscription coffee made in an aeropress mixed with a food replacement powder in order to stay full doing a media job.
    Fml

  • FYL? That's living the dream fam.

  • Needs more "artisan".

  • I shove coffee in mine on the first one but I think its the human equivalent of giving an old ford consul some choke in the morning.

  • What a time to be alive!

All this talk of Hurl has got me wanting to try some as a supplement or in between meal snack... Should I go powder or bars? Is one sweeter than the other? I basically don't want any extra sugar or sweeteners

  • I've come to the very non scientific conclusion that coffee is good for me, but not during or around meals. I've read it's quite effective at inhibiting your iron uptake (tea does the same thing). But don't quote me on that!

  • The bars have 8.2g sugar per bar, whereas the powder has something like 0.7g per 100g.
Try vanilla and unflavoured, you might like/hate either. It's all very subjective.

As for the coffee with food thing, it's never really that black and white. Apparently it can help with digestion but on the other hand, may limit uptake of X or Y.
Not a nutritionist so I don't want to pollute the thread with broscience :)

  • Mentioned this to my gf on our run last night. She concluded that I'm lazy and we had a mild fall-out. Can't wait to buy some on payday.

  • Nuts / raw veg

  • At home I'm all about nuts and raw veg, at work not so much... but you do have a point, might just buy a few bags of nice things and stash them away somewhere...

  • Well it is lazy. Same as driving somewhere when you could cycle, or walk.
Depends what you want to spend your time on.

Will be starting a new job in a month and I'll probably buy some rather than use the canteen, especially if I want to cut short lunch to go for a run/gym/whatever. I could certainly make something at home the night before but I don't really enjoy spending my time doing that. So I'll be lazy and make a month's lunch decisions at once and have a bit more time to do something else. Quite happy to embrace lazy as long as I've made that choice.

  • Google coffee, cortisol and fat. Interesting. It triggers excess fat storage, so its good to minimise caffeine. When I was on huel but a bad coffee habit I had a bit of a stubborn belly. Ditched the coffee fixes, huge difference.

  • Coffee is one sacrifice too far.

  • no caffeine = no get out of bed. which I learnt last year is the fastest way to pile on weight.

  • Anyone got a referral code? Ta

  • Just read about this. Laaaaame.

  • Bought a box of Purition samples, am curious to see if I like them a bit better than Huel.

  • I tried the Mocha flavouring today... It was damn tasty!
    To me anyway.
The chocolate, and the banana were both too artificially sweet tasting, but I'm definitely feeling the mocha!

  • I felt the same with the pineapple one, way too sweet and ended up throwing it out. Just bought the samples of all flavours so looking forward to trying them out

  • They do flavour samples?!

  • Yeah they do a sample pack of all nine flavours, single shot of each, for £1.50
The cacao was ok too, toffee was a bit sickly, but mocha is still winning!
I've got rhubarb and custard to look forward to for breakfast! :)

  • MyProtein do a myriad of flavourings in both drop and powder form that would mix easily into this if you want variety.
