Original Black, pro or normal.
Koolstop are meant to be good at wearing out before your rims too.
I used some black Swissstops for a good couple of years on one of my bikes and the rims are barely worn at all. -

green ones .. although @fussballclub descended on koolstop salmon at 70kmph

Girona...
Bugger me. Heaven for cyclists.
Rocacorba is a nice climb. Stops with a dead-end, so very quiet. Les Engels is also a beautiful ride. Drivers are so courteous.
You'll see pro riders all over the roads. Maybe even Dave Millar.
Ex-pro Christian Meier has opened a shop called The Service Course which is very high-end and extremely helpful. Worth a look if you want to rent a bike. They have a club ride at 9:30 on Sundays. He's also got Espresso Mafia and La Fabrica if you want to caffeinate or eat. Both very good.
I'll be back to Girona soon to ride, I hope.

Second cracked carbon-related despair of the day:
I bought a silly trispoke wheel off here back in February, with the aim of doing TTs later in the year. In typical LFGSS fashion, I took the tyre off it (using plastic tyre levers), put a new tyre on it, took pictures of my bike, and then bought a replacement for it without even riding it once.
I decided to sell it, and today, the potential buyer was just leaving mine and noticed a crack in the rim:
Because I bought it with a tyre on, even if it was there when I bought it I wouldn't have seen it. There's nothing that's happened in the meantime that could have caused it, and since I got the replacement it's been kept in the well-packaged box that the replacement came in.
Obviously I'm not going to sell it now. But seeing as I've never even ridden it, do I have any recourse to go back to the seller now, or is it too late to reasonably do this?

If you had sold it today with a tyre on then tomorrow or the next day your buyer contacted you to say it was cracked what would you do then. Your buyer wouldn't have known if it had a tyre on it anymore that you did and probably the same for whoever you bought it from. Give it a good soaking in superglue then wipe off and use it.
What's the worst that could happen? YOLO! -

I don't want to use it, as I said I'd already replaced it and have no need for it.
I received some carbon bars this morning which turned out to be damaged, and I expected the seller to refund me - but if I'd bought them in February I'd expect the seller to be a bit suspicious.
If I had sold it without knowing, and the seller had got back to me tomorrow saying it was damaged I'd give them a refund - if they got back to me in two months I'd be a bit wary.

South of France without a doubt.

You've answered your own question then.

Where did you stay?

I'm not sure I have.
I can accept the seller would be wary seeing as I bought it 2 months ago.
But what I came here to get opinions on is whether it would be reasonable for me to try and seek compensation for something I paid £170 for and never got to use.

I'd definitely contact them. Some people are honourable.

Koolstop Salmon is idea for short quick braking rather than prolonged one which will wear it out quickly, so 70km/h is fine.
I concur, Swissstop Green wear out rims faster due to harder compound, either Swissstop BXP or Koolstop Salmon for longivity on rims.

Koolstop Salmon. A bit more than 70km/h (was that supposed to be 70mph?)
Girona. Stayed in a couple of AirBnBs near cathedral. I hired a bike from BikeBreaks so only took hand luggage. Shop ride from there Thursday.

I too stayed in an Airbnb near the cathedral. Cheap as chips. You can be anywhere in town and ride easily as it's so small, but you may as well be in the picturesque old town.

Just get a JTek Shiftmate and use normal road brifters.

So what's the best for alpine descents?
-
• #83046
Do you even lfgss? Brakeless fixie skidder obvsli won't wear out rims.

Can anyone help me figure out what headset bearings I need for my road bike?

You've got two opinions now so go for it.

I just received an order from tredz.
The item I ordered is shown in the image. As you can see the picture of the item shows two brake cables and the description states "Set includes front and rear". However when the package arrived it contained only a single brake cable...
Now that I look again I notice that, confusingly, the description also reads "Custom inner cable (x1)". I don't know if I missed the "(x1)" last time around, or whether I interpreted it as "x1 set".
Am I justified in feeling miffed or do I just need to improve my reading and English comprehension skills?
It also looks like I bought their single last cable so now I need to either find somewhere else that sells single cables, or return this one and find somewhere that sells pairs.

How many nipples? It would be possible to send one cable which would make a front/rear set if both ends had nipples.
Which Swiss Stops are the ones that kill themselves rather than your rims? Alu rims.
