• Yep, it's a shitstorm now. Rightly so too.

  • This afternoon I also plan to run a single item through all the self checkouts and then leave it so they're all temporarily unavailable. Because, fuck you Sainsburys.

  • Nice idea. Buy something and then accidentally hold it barcode out walking past all of the other self checkout scanners.

If challenged claim you were inside your own lane.

  • Sainsbury Twitter makes for interesting reason, one about Nectar points, the next apologising for the pass and the tweet, then something about ham, then another apology. Oops Faiza, you may have just pissed off all your colleagues.

DO NOT CROSS US, or your social media will be the one to suffer

  • another apology

"We're sorry that you're upset" is pretty far from being an apology.

  • Has an incident this morning - I won't bore you with details.

Driver went fucking MENTAL at me when I told him to, "read the fucking highway code". Started threatening me, drove his car at me etc. He was furious that I'd sworn at him.

I've reported it to Roadsafe, but is that enough? He properly shit me up. At one stage it looked like he was searching for a weapon.

  • I'd file that one with the police- using vehicle as a weapon tips it over the line I think.

  • Absolutely agree with salmonchild, report him. My experience is that the police will follow it up. They might not (be able to) do anything when they do. But, they will have your statement on file and, if that person has history or does anything else, they are more likely to act.

I always tell myself not to swear - it only inflames the situation. Unfortunately, I usually only get that message to my mouth after the event! Mind you, even if you don't swear, people still assume you have and threaten / assault you!

  • Riding north past Clapham Common from Clapham South this afternoon and there was a motorbike rider down and I'm assuming the van that hit him was stopped across both lanes northbound shielding him from traffic with all the telltale signs of a left/right hooking.

all the traffic was having to edge past on the hatched lines between the accident and the oncoming lane but it was fairly quiet so literally took a few seconds to get past but was very obvious what had happened .

150yds up the road there's a left turn and not one but fucking two shitcunts of the highest order zoom up from behind just as I am about to reach the turning (but going straight on) and drive straight across me (if i hadn't stopped fully for the first the second would have pasted me for certain).

YOU LITERALLY JUST SAW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DO THIS YOU IMPATIENT CUNTS.

No plates or anything as I was focusing on not having to share an ambulance with the other guy.

  • Don't think ambos do groupsave

  • If that's the left just before Clapham Common tube it's a pain in the arse, I just move over and take up the whole inside lane to stop arses cutting me up

  • as do I normally but with the collision traffic was super light (basically me and them and a couple of cars much further back) and there was literally no one behind me in the cycle lane so only a complete fucking sociopath would think it necessary to perform a manoeuvre like that instead of just waiting 3 seconds for me to pass the turning, it just so happens there were two such cunts in charge of tons of fast moving metal approaching from behind me at that exact moment.

  • Roadsafe'd a taxi who used the Blackfriars segregated lane as his own personal u-turn space this morning. Prick.

  • Report the police to the police.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Gkk9J0ItZ0

  • I think plod may have noticed the camera and wound his neck in. I wonder if he's ever been in charge of an RTC investigation involving a cyclist?

LBC promoted that clip with the headline "Who was in the right?" then "Cyclists say the copper was wrong" and now it says "This cyclist really turns the tables on the police officer - watch:"

    Tossers.

  • Eyy, I'm in that video, 2'42 and my girlfriend just behind at 2'47. I'd seen the camera and wondered how long it'd take to emerge so I could find out the story.

  • Yeah, all this "Who do you think was right?" clickbaity nonsense from the media is disheartening, but not unexpected. Worrying support in some comment sections for the officer's bullshit.

The invented offence (or, interpreting it in the most generous terms, the completely irrelevant offence) of obstructing traffic is good old-fashioned enforcement of the imaginary road hierarchy.

I did enjoy the lightning-fast change of tack from the copper when he realised the cyclist might be able to prove he was speeding...

  • Saw this on Twitter: plod did pass close and obviously took offense at the chap saying 'excuse me' to him. A real fucking shame we have police officers firstly passing too close and then complaining about a cyclist 'obstructing traffic', when they are in primary next to parked cars and obeying the Highway Code. He's turned on his blues and pulled him over for nothing more than he felt slighted by the cyclist taking issue with him and his road positioning, and added to that he speeded, if the cyclist is correct about his speed.

  • What i find particularly charming about this section is when i do the "hold back" sign before taking the lane and the motorist behind deliberately guns it past so they don't have to wait 5 seconds for me to safely clear the turning.

  • or the fact that about 80% of the people who speed past you at this point have to slam the brakes on to be able to make the turn itself. I often find I end up having to ride around to their right to prevent myself from having to come to a stop.

    complete lack of awareness/judgement

  • Impatient driver going through Brixton HS this morning, getting frustrated with chilled driver in front. Beep of horn, dangerous undertake, confronted by another red light, drives unnecessarily into the ASL.

I pull along side in ASL. Check behind me, "Oh hai Mr Plod!". Lights change, Sheriff's wagon goes behind Mr Impatient, hits the blues and twos and pull him over. Ha! Justice!

  • Hope it was the guy in Brixton this morning who tried to squeeze into the 10yd gap between me and a coach when were crawling along in a 20mph restricted zone, complete with speed bumps and threatened me when I waved my hand at the to$$er.

  • Had an impatient, aggressive SUV driver tailgate me down a narrow section of road leading to the Thames path near Mortlake (where there are often leisure cyclists - and in fact there was a Dad with his 4 or 5 year old riding along when this guy went blasting past). He then stopped 5 seconds later to drop people off. I guess it shouldn't surprise me that this kind of selfish, stupid, pointless aggression still exists, I've just been insulated by a relatively easy traffic free commute for a while.
