Any tab in any browser will eat more cpu. Either don't have so many tabs open or reset your computer every now and then.

If you need a new phone but can't hold out, the SE is solid as fuck, camera is decent, and it's pretty cheap* too. Then just sell when 8 come out.

The latest version of Chrome moves very close to this. It's now pretty aggressive about pausing everything on a tab that isn't being used.

I've found Chrome a memory monster on just about every platform. Especially so Android where it can eat up a gig of RAM without even thinking about it. It's a tough platform for anything not hi end/large ram machines.

Is there a way to cheat some kind of link to Google Docs/Sheets etc into the Mac OS dock?
It used to be you could have Chrome app launcher in there but that doesn't seem to be the case now and I'd rather just direct links to Google Docs even if it opens in Chrome or a browser. I have and use Chrome but can't figure it out.
I'm imagining something a bit like Paws for Trello but for Docs/Sheets etc.

Ah, wait, I actually want it in the dock so I can re-order with other apps, not to the right of the divider.

This is 2017. There MUST be a workaround for this nonsense that doesn't involve Pages or Word or Open Office etc.
I expect answers on my desk in the morning.

Piece of pie with applescript. Copy this into the applescript editor and save it as an application.
tell application "Google Chrome" activate open location "http://www.lfgss.com" delay 1 activate end tell

Charge slowly but still charge it.

iOS 10.3 appears to have broken the 3rd-party adapter I use for my USB DAC. :(

Well more about have a portable ultra light device really rather than OSX v Windows, ideally with a bigger better screen. Think I've answered my own question.

Are you comparing those two?
If you don't care about the OS I'd go Dell unless it's made out of plastic and has a shit keyboard and trackpad
-
• #11024
I know that's an Air, but still, that Dell looks more portable
-
• #11025
Isn't the MacBook more portable?
Chrome eats CPU with loads of tabs. What if you stick to just a few?
