  • Nice juicy pictures. I've tried cinestill 50 and 800 last summer with disappointing results, then look on other's work/pictures and want run to the shops and throw my money at cinestill again, it looks so amazing

  • I shot these 2 on cinestill 50 last year. Only managed 8 shots before my camera winder fucked up and ejected the roll...

  • Question regards Nikon Laf35
Can’t get focus in dim light, not total darkness something like in pub around 8pm heh. When I half press shutter button the focus conformation arrow keeps going into mountains (infinity I presume) even if subject 2-3 meters away. I’ve tried to focus on something bright and contrast but the arrow still stops only in mountains. Same situation is outside in street when it’s dark and no problems with focus in day light. Is it one of dose old tech down sides that just have to live with or camera needs some service?

  • Anybody shot film when in snowy conditions?

Getting my negs back and scanning them using silverfast and my epson v700. Incredibly difficult to get scans that are not grainy and very contrasty with a vignette.

I'm shooting with a contax T2 and Kodak portra 160.

  • I just got a Mamiya 645 1000s for £100. It comes with the stock 80mm which I am going to use for landscapes and a 210mm which I intend to use for photographing furniture I make.
I want colour film but question is which ones should I try? I was thinking Ektar 100 for outdoors use, but which ones should I look at for studio stuff?
If I am asking in the wrong sub-forum again I am sorry. But the title of this thread suggests that this is where film cameras are discussed..

  • How do the negs look? Is there detail in the light areas of the neg (that would be shadow)?

If you used the cam's reflected metering without compensation anything that isn't snow could be majorly underexposed.

  • Anyone looking for a minty fresh Olympus trip 35?

Have one here for £50 before I make a for sale ad.

No postage, central London collection only this time.

  • Some more large format scans.

Graflex Speed Graphic with Kodak Aero Ektar on Foma 100. Stand dev in 1:100 Rodinal for 60mins.

  • Nice selection, you shot cinestill before?

  • It's try-and-error / find out what film you like.
You can also check flickr for example and search the pool for photos shot with this or that film to get an idea.
Maybe just start with Kodak Portra 160..

  • I think thats it really. I was probably just metering for the snow and shooting.

Off in a few weeks time so can i try it out and be more careful.

    The negs are dark

  • Maybe meter off the back of your (gloveless) hand next time.
