How do the Marathon Supremes feel? Harsh, average, well smooth? I'm thinking of getting some 26"s.

Just got the standard ones up to 32 and will be putting them on the bike next week.

Do you actually need to use those little screw rings? They just rattle so much!

I never do

You mean the knurled nut? I never have.

No, they help the tube stay aligned when installing the tyre, and some have a shoulder which means they help if you're installing a presta tube into a rim drilled for Schrader, but apart from that, useless.

Anyone have any experience with Michelin Dynamic Classics (gumwall)?
They're currently £15.28 on PBK for a pair.
I might buy them just to throw on to my mint condition Mixte in case I ever want to sell (still has its original tires which I wouldn't trust). -

Having purchased a pair of £7 Lifeline Wiggle own brand tyres for a runaround bike for my wife I'm >99.9% convinced they are Maxxis re-badged; packaging identical down to use of a plastic hangtag >with the tyre zip tied to it. Even the compound feels like a Re-fuse and they use an aramid bead.
The Maxxis evidence mounts; they are also ridiculously undersized for a 25c when mounted on a standard rim just like Refuse.

Ride quite well but wear fairly quickly and low puncture protection. Fine for my dry road, low use vintage piece.

PS £9 at CRC

I don't have much experience to compare them to, since I swapped out the only other 32c I've ever ridden on after a couple of rides, some Hutchinsons. They're lighter and feel faster rolling than those, and smooth enough, definitely not harsh. All my other riding has been on slicker 23c/25c, but it would be harsh to compare them to Corsa G+! Fast-ish training ride paces don't seem to suffer noticeably.

Cool. As I'm toying with the 26x2.0 version "lighter and feel faster rolling" seems good, don't want to be stuck with some tough, but awful riding tyres, like the normal marathons.

A tad undersized, I would say. I just measured mine:
32mm on a 19mm wide rim (inner width)
34mm on a 23mm wide rim (inner width)(the standard file-thread/herringbones, not the SK)

Absolutely terrible tyres.

The lock nuts stop the valve rattling against the rim - you all need to listen harder.

I'm running 32c file tread on 2 bikes and they're excellent road tyres. Smooth, fast, durable.
But, has anyone tried the SK and the file tread and is able to compare?

Hoping these will be available in time for summer touring

I hope they come in grey and silver, although doubt it would look as good as the classic Open Pro in silvers.

WANT! Just in time for my new build CAAD9.
Gravel Kings SK go up to 32. Haven't seen the standard ones go up to 32?
The gumwalls are coming in April apparently.
