  • Where are you, @dirkbang?

  • I'm in London - Down in Catford.

  • Any CCTV of the car arriving in the hands of Meet & Greet?

  • More than likely, however they've posted me bit of paper I had to sign in order to get my keys and be told where they'd parked my car - and it says (in type too small for me to see at the time) that by signing I acknowledge that the car is fine.

  • Come and help me build the worlds greatest racing car!

  • It's only down the road

  • Hell yeah - you serious? (what is it?)

  • Now a flat battery on the forecourt of the bp garage on kingsland road... Joy...!

RAC on thier way... Bad luck car wise today!

  • This weather culls.

  • Surely that wouldn't stand up if you have to sign it before you see your car?

  • Damn that's next to my flat. Could have given you a jump but I won't be home for a couple of hours.

  • My problem is space. I have a secure car park but can't leave tools out and it's cold. So I never fix the things I need to fix. It's a bit make or break now: I'll either spend a weekend sorting it and enjoy it this summer, or park it up on SORN and it'll not turn a wheel for a decade.

  • One of these...

[edit - a LONG way from getting an inside wheel up]

  • Here are some pics of the 911 up for sale. It lives in Norfolk but comes up to London every now and then if anyone wants to see it.

  • Update:

I figured out the draw on my battery and it was so silly, the key was getting stuck in the start up position so it was drawing power as if starting when I was driving, also why the instrument cluster and windscreen wipers had stopped working. I installed a brand new 100amp alternator and it's working perfectly.

Drove around 70 miles today and it went perfectly apart from one of the little dayligth running lights and a tail light stopping working but I'm confident they're easy fixes. Hoping to replace the head gasket and apply some of the insulation matt I've bought to the footwells and firewall.

I've got new floor matts on the way and hopefully picking up some van sides to replace the rattly and leaky rear windows soon.

This car really is starting to become a nice place to be.

Edit: Also spotted a really lovely 130 double cab pickup in dark blue.

  • forum landbrover ride?

  • Haha! No way - I actually learn't to drive in an MGB on Wisley Aerodrome. What's the plan? Keeping with the 1800? I would absolutely love to help out.

Huh, I just been there recently mushrooming, the aerodrome still there, abet overground and not accessible anymore.

  • Cool. I will let you know. Planning to get the bodywork done (engine bay and underneath) asap and then tryino get it back on its own wheels before spring. I'll let you know.
