If anyone is looking for a 911 this appears (to me) to be a decent shout.

This is just a wee public service announcement.
If your black plastic trim is looking a bit grey and faded, don't waste money on various cheap treatments. Just get this.
I've done the trim on my car and it's had a few weeks and three or four washes now and it's still black.
It seems expensive but 30ml did my whole car and I have about 1/3 left.

I have a before/after I can upload if anyone wants to see the results.

It's widely regarded as the best /only treatment that works well. On some plastics you get lucky and cheaper products work or the heat gun technique.

Solid. I want it.

There's a Lotus Carlton on eBay for 15k, much want.

Pretend Nordschleife verified by @NurseHolliday as pretty legit.
Despite the lack of g-forces or smell of petrol I think the whole thing made a good impression on him. If anyone else fancies checking it out they're very welcome.

Is that your set up?

It's so good! I was astonished at the quality of the force feedback and the realism.
The only disappointment was how bad I was, it's really hard compared to real life. I was shit on the brakes, turning in too late, trying to turn in doing about 20mph faster than I should have been, although I did manage Brands Hatch Indy faster than I've ever done in real life, my lines were horrendous.
Racing driver excuses: I couldn't see distance as well as I can in real life, I think more time with the VR headset is needed to get used to it, so sighting apexes is really hard. Also picking out braking points is harder than real life, I use things like tyre marks or tarmac changes as braking points and they're not quite visual enough on VR.
Hilarious moment was on Nordschleife, insitinctively checking my mirrors before moving over after the bridge and then periodically checking my mirrors for traffic on the lap. It's so realistic!
935 race car was insane. @Brun saved the best for last, turbo lag and then just constant sideways.
The setup favours the "theory" driver, one who predicts all actions and re-actions rather than the "feel" driver who responds to G forces and sound. I think a headset with the volume turned up loud would be even better so you can hear what the engine and tyres are doing.

Right need some advice, second hand Toyota Prius, is it worth going for?
-
• #32016
So many questions before you can answer that one but here are two simple ones:
Why do you need a car?
What's your budget? -
• #32017
Not for me, for parents, a low emission cars (not diesel, tax free) with decent MPG that gonna get run maybe 1,000 miles a years average.
The Prius is also fairly big for adults to sit comfortably in the back.

• #32018
Hire car would be cheaper.
Get one with warranty especially covering the battery.
-
• #32019
Why not something like a 2012 Aygo? that BMW is gonna be useless, and vehicles tax won't be cheap and less than half the mpg.
To clarify, it will be more of a back up/emergency cars than a primary car, as they do have a BMW X1 XDrive.

1,000 miles a year, no VED? Sounds like calling for a taxi is going to be the best option.
-
• #32021
maybe 500 miles, but going to keep it in garage for the next 10 years (which should help reduced insurance cost further).
The current back-up car is a 180hp diesel monster of a people carrier, which cost more to run than the BMW despite no reliability issues.
-
• #32022
Not running a car for long periods is not good grounds for making it an emergency back up. It should still be maintained regularly and put battery on trickle charge.
-
• #32023
Would using it once or twice a week sufficient to keep it running smoothly? it is a good point, leaving it alone for too long can cause issues.
-
• #32024
I'd say a ZipCar membership sounds ideal

I can't state it won't be ok, but at mileages you are quoting, battery probably won't retain charge well. Also exhaust system prone to rust if vehicle not run to temperature frequently as water will not evaporate. However a Toyota could well be your best bet even though Aygo is joint PSA project, which you probably know. I may be visiting the factory in a months time #CSB etc. These other suggestions to hire should be seriously considered unless entirely impractical, cost must be less, reduced hassle and kinder to the enviro...?
I would seriously look at the additional wiring, the connectors are just awful. Look at http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/ that way you can use water proof connectors and even soldered one too.
