Nokia are coming back, and with a strong effort.

Does anyone know if the latest Moto X Play update is the 7.0 update or just a security update. It is meant to be getting Nougat at some point but googling the update doesn't seem to tell you anything.

No, not had a moment. Maybe over Xmas.

Which Fire?
I've had limited joy with an HDX, other than with the spyware monstrosity that is Kingroot.
And now the keyboard / touchscreen is borked, even when reset.

Just the cheap as chips 7" tablet.
hmm, I'll probably leave as it is for the time being. See how much FireOS annoys me before trying anything

Xiamoi Redmi Note 4 arrived today. Absolutely no complaints. Will invest in a glass cover. MIUI doesn't really seem all that much of a change. So far so good.

Got a pixel from lovely wifey. Anyone care?

Interested to hear more about this when you have some time with it, looks ideal for a bigger device for my mum...

Still no complaints. Feels well built/nice weight (doesn't feel cheap). Absolutely love the finger print scanner. Essential tech for me now. Did install a different launcher in the end. Only thing I didn't realise when I ordered is there is no NFC. Not the end of the world, but android pay/Barclays app saved my ass a month ago when I left my wallet at a mate's and couldn't get it back for a few days.

What's the WiFi performance like?

No complaints. But I've got three APs in my flat, so never far from one. Happy to some sort of test if such a thing exists.

Do I lose anything by using Nova launcher (or any other launcher) as opposed to the Google one? I don't use Google now.
The Google one has an annoying habit of removing all shortcuts to apps on the SD card if it takes a while to initialise.

I haven't found any reduced functionality, quite the opposite actually

You can set it up to be exactly the same as stock, I 1st used it to have exactly the same as I had stock just without the persistent search bar. I've since customised it quite a bit

Nova Launcher is great, I even paid for the Pro version so I could customise ALL the things...
-
• #18143
Cheers. I bought the pro version a while back but stopped using it.
Think I'll give it another go.
Edit - I tell a lie, I bought action launcher

Nexus 5x finger print hardware not available, did a factory reset and brought it back after testing on safe mode. That only lasted about 3 days and the same happened, however this time no work around worked and I'm currently have a 3 months old phone with a non working fingerprint sensor. Anybody have any suggestion before I send it back for repair ( spoken to LG and there happy to repair/replace, but can't give me a time frame ) thought I'd ask here first

Does anyone have any experience running Showbox on a Sony Android TV? I'm struggling

On this topic, any killer android TV apps?

Apart from Plex and Kodi?

Just installed these 3:
Haystack TV
Pluto TV
MubiHaystack & Pluto work with Google's "Live Channels" with, from what I've seen, varying degrees of quality, both technical and editorial. Strong content on Mubi, but my main use is still YouView.

I've got Plex, it's undoubtedly ace, and a good shout. Although, I've moved away from curating my own library. I have a Plex server, but use is less and less frequently.

I didn't even know about Google live channels! Neat! Thanks.
I use Talon, works well
