All the Nexus 5x deals gone?

OP3T is as good or better than stuff twice it's price though.

I bought a redmi 3s, the 4 is out now. I'm very impressed with it for £110, especially the battery. I'm on 48% and it wasnt charged last night.

Cheers, looks promising - where'd you order from?

I ordered from banggood as you could pay with paypal incase it went AWOL in the post. There isnt much of a modding scene for it so you're stuck with MIUI, i installed nova launcher and you mostly don't notice. A few things to make note of:
- You will also have to check it has the correct bands for 4G, i think they normally miss O2.
- The capacitive menu buttons aren't lit.
- It feels quite thick in the hand, (fnar)
I went for the 3gb ram, 32 gb memory option

Note 4 is 120 (2gig ram/16gig storage model) or 140 for 3gig/64gig...
Tempted to pull the trigger on the latter.

I can't seem to buy it - can anyone else add this to their shopping basket/buy it now?
-

Ironically it works on my busted phone.
(bought it)

Ordered a Oneplus 3T to replace my slowly failing Sony Z3 compact. Got a delivery date of somewhere around the 28th but hoping that might shorten a bit - guess that's just way things are for a pretty impressive bang for your buck phone since Google got out of that market.

7.1.1 is now avliable for nexus 5x and a few other phones. Now with more inclusive emojis and a gif keyboard!.....wait why am i excited?

But, but, but - settings cog is now visible at the first pull down menu. Win!!11!

Probably more appropriate here. Are any of the Android sticks any good (the ones that look like a big memory stick with a HDMI on the end)? Mainly for Plex/Kodi use. Preferably with a full-size USB port. Preferably cheap.
I owned one in the past and it was pretty crap, couldn't even manage 720p video.

just buy a fire tv and stick Kodi on it. I don't think the usb sticks are powerful enough
-
• #18115
This is to replace a fire TV stick. The one I have has always struggled a bit for some reason, a bit slow to navigate and buffering with media.
-
• #18116
I meant an actual fire TV not the USB stick. I have the first generation fire TV and kodi runs fine on it.
-
• #18117
I also have a fire TV box happily running kodi. It serves local media through kodi over WiFi from my server without any trouble and the menus are slick. Have you tried a lighter skin? Is it a particular app which slows the menu?

Let me/us know what it is like when you get it. Tempted now that my Wileyfox Swift is crawling towards it's likely smashy death.
-
• #18119
Cheers, I'm looking at a stick rather than box as it's for taking away when I'm travelling and fewer cables the better. I use a Raspberry Pi at home which copes fine, the Fire TV stick just seems slow all round (not just on Kodi).

Will do. Hopefully it comes soon. The digitizer on my current phone is giving up so I find myself often in the midst of random ghost taps or unable to hit the home button. All very frustrating.
-
• #18121
The Swift camera is woeful and whatever the Cyanogen updates have done means it just crawls to a halt every time a regular app updates. The Wifi signal is also utter balls, which may be causing the previous issue. I have a decent connection at home but browsing or using anything that relies on wifi is painful. I often just switch over to 4G. The USB port seems to like randomly ejecting the charger lead too.

Here's hoping the Chinese have done better than the Brits on this one.
-
• #18123
chromecast and just cast off a tablet/phone/laptop ?
-
• #18124
Probably wouldn't always work in hotels as the WiFi has discovery turned off. Maybe I'll have another try of the Fire stick.

Out of touch androider here. S3 from new is showing signs of being on last legs. Most used features are lfgss app (aka chrome browser), camera, & gps.
Any recommendations for good value (budget) replacement?
Related, a less used app is Carbon for Twitter, but this seems semi-obsolete now tweets are longer than 140 as it only shows first 140. Is there a smarter non-twitter twitter app these days? I still miss tweetdeck btw.
Ta.
OP3T is three weeks delivery and £70 more...
I want something a bit fancier than a Moto G, tbf. But I don't need anything fancier. Argh.
